  1. I haven't read this whole thread, but the question that pops into my mind is if the Angels felt comfortable giving up a 2nd round pick (and INT FA pool money), does that speak to a larger strategy of going after one or more other, compensation-attached, free agent's, since there is a declining price to pay in terms of draft picks for signing each additional free agent?
  2. BR should fork over the right one, then!
  3. And you will never eat there again without that image in your head....
  4. For both of them, it was In-n-Out.
  5. Apologies if someone posted this already, but I saw it and it made me laugh:
  6. Heyman: "How does it look, Jeremy?" Jeremy: "I like it, it Reed's well."
  7. I got a big promotion at work, and I have been so freakin' busy, it is making me regret it, lol.
  8. I thought we were already talking about submarines with all the scouting talk and the Perry-scoping of prospects...
  9. So both were drafted in 2021 and I ranked Bush at #9 over Silseth at #21. Both had a limited history in 2021 (which is what I based my decision on at that time) and a very small amount of IP (Bush had twice the number, but both were ridiculously small sample sizes), and so I based my limited view on other reports and his K/9 rate, so I placed Bush higher, but it was a "fuzzy" ranking for both. Now I'd clearly state that Silseth has jumped above Bush and is clearly more ready for the Majors, thus the promotion, but that doesn't necessarily mean there is a wide chasm between the two, just that Chase's stuff has come together faster than Bush's, probably. You also have to consider that Silseth may be a trade target from another team and the Angels are giving him a Major League debut to see how he performs? Not saying that is the case, but you have to consider all possibilities, no matter how remote. The likely option is that the Angels believe they have a really good SP and want to get him Major League experience in anticipation of a more permanent callup in 2023.
  10. It wasn't a philosophy post on my part, I was just pointing out that not every trade (or signing) resulted in a negative for the Angels. Post was focused solely on the thought of his deal-making, nothing more, nothing less. Fully agree that all of our front offices in recent memory have almost exclusively focused on the Major League product.
  11. And Andrelton Simmons. Newcomb was just DFA'd recently and the 2nd piece (forgetting who that was off the top of my head, but some were aghast we moved those two and they haven't done much) has been shuffling around different teams with no real accomplishment. Simmons was pretty good over his years here, so Eppler didn't fail, but he didn't massively succeed either.... like a lot of GM's as a matter of fact.
  12. In fact I think I am going to buy a ticket for tonight's game, as well.... hmmm 3B near the field (closer to Livan possibly if he's at SS) or RF pavilion (closer to Ward/Trout)?
  13. Wow, three edits in a two sentence post I must be drunk, good grief. Now I have to recheck this post, too.
  14. Little late to this, work has been hectic lately. The tools are definitely there. The pure speed combined with the defensive capability gives him a higher floor into a utility outfielder role, as AJ mentioned above. If he can continue developing his hitting, he could suddenly be a full-time Major League outfielder. In the end everyone learns and operates at their own pace, but Adams has the potential tools to make a long career in the game of baseball, if it all comes together.
  15. That would be a positive turn of events.
  16. Why do you think he has the Costco pack of Brawny paper towels as backup, IP? And @tdawg87 keeps wondering why his septic system is blocked up....
  17. Totally disagree on this. If he was put up in the offseason every team in the Majors would at least inquire and several of them would offer a haul for him. I still think the Angels will extend him, ultimately, no matter which owner they are under, but wtf do I know.
  18. Brings a whole new meaning when a ball flies into the stands and someone yells, "Heads Up!"
  19. Boyfriend comes back from the A's bathrooms: "Hey babe, the sewer lines are flooding the bathrooms again!" Girlfriend: "Don't worry I'm gonna sewer your face!"
  20. This reminds me of the good 'ol days when we'd sit outside the club sharing some alcohol we bought at the store and then went inside and downed a bunch of super cheap drink specials (Kamikazi's and what-not).
