I've been to many opening days, and I agree the lines are always insane. But last night they seemed to be the worst ever, and the service was slower than ever. I can't recall it ever being close to as bad as last night. I understand there is no spring training for new staff or anything like that, and tend to give a pass the first week or so, but last night was ridiculous. And to get cold food to boot was just unacceptable. I don't expect 5 star service or anything, but a hot dog should at least be warm. I understand the stadium is old, so things like broken escalators don't bother me. It happens several times per year, every year. I'll be there again Thursday, Friday and Saturday, so hopefully the kinks get worked out. (And while the service and food stunk, if the Angels had won, I probably wouldn't have posted this...but last night was rough!)

Yeah, the big scoreboard looks ancient. Patchy panels all over it. But hey, there are new LCD menus at the concession stands. Just gotta wait a half an hour to get to the front of the line to see them.

Not having David changed the whole vibe of the stadium last night. Didn't feel like home, the whole night felt off from the start. The new guy isn't bad, but his voice blends in with the crowd noise. Really miss David.

Wow, the food service lines were insane last night! By the 3rd inning, the wait in most lines was over an inning long. Service was really slow. I walked down from view level to the main concourse and it wasn't any better. Ended up waiting through a line for a beer and hot dog. The hot dog was cold to the touch, so I just threw it away. Worst I've seen the service at the stadium in a LONG time. Maybe my timing was just bad though. The only short line I saw was 5 people deep for $13 Leinekugels (sp?).

I didn't understand the pitching change at all, and then to bring him in and have him play games with the runner (pick off throw, pitch out, etc) before even throwing a pitch with 2 outs seemed micromanaged. That said, he sucked.

Funny thing is my season seat rep sent out an email saying there would be a flyover.... Cessna? Police copter? Who knows...
