welp. thats enough for me. Y'all have a nice afternoon.

I know this isn't how it works but, I'd say O'Hoppe just based on MLB need.
Any team that even wants to think about contending for a playoff spot can't run Stassi and Suzuki () out there in anything more than a backup/emergency role.

Arte doesn't deserve S***
Amen.
Petulant Arte killed the deal cuz he's like a spoiled toddler who wasn't getting his way. Fortunately, it turned out the way it did but that was a total accident. He deserves no credit.

Tori Hunter is 27. At what age do teams typically give up on prospects?

Just once in the next decade, I'd like to go into a season without depending on "Ifs" and "mights"
But, yeah. I'm right there with you

Not true. That's like saying all men are jerks or all women only care about money. There are absolutely fans that would rather Shohei stay with the Angels and lose.
Yes, you're probably correct. Seems that's how our owner feels.
As much as I like Shohei, seems stupid to ME.

Word is Angels owner Arte Moreno didn’t even want to hear offers, so talks barely got off the ground
Well, no S**t. Click bait.
We'd all rather win without Shohei than lose with him but until arte figures that out, I fear we're doomed. Wash, rinse, repeat.

My wife says.. "why don't you quit the Angels and just pick a different team?"
If it only it were that easy.

When it's going good, I watch every single inning. Now? I definitely follow, but I only watch a game, maybe two a week. My son and I commiserate/follow together (have for years, he's too young to remember 2002). So that keeps me interested. Also, as others have said, it's what I've done for 40+ years.
I did watch last night to see some new blood. Unfortunately, I was treated to Gosselin and Rojas.
Also. Moniak. I have a feeling he could be the sleeper of the trade deadline.

Noah and Brandon are on a plane laughing and saying "Thank god, that was a s*** show"

I think Adell just needs to crush it on both sides of the ball at AAA and come up with confidence.
The tough part would be finding him playing time, if everyone's healthy.
Not sure about the playing time thing. We've been trotting out MI's in the OF fairly regularly. The way Joe is resting players, seems like there'd be AB's for him.

Scrolled through 4 pages looking for something on Rengifo.
Made me hungry.

Nice write up BTW!

One final note. The list above is striking for a different reason: The Angels don't "need" any of them, and really, any help they bring will be supplementary. That is a stark different from previous years, when there was this ongoing feeling of emptiness at the suckitude of the major league team, and the distressing knowledge that there was nothing to draw on from the high minors. This year, there's still not a lot to draw on--although a few potentially useful pieces, as listed above--but really very little need.
Massively different than last year where this list would have felt more like the guys we "needed". It's a nice feeling.

Honestly not all that disappointed. I like what Velasquez and Wade bring. Well, aside from Squid being a black hole in the order

OTOH, he'll be 30, he benefits from Fenway (away OPS is over 100 points less than home), and while I'm sure he'd get Seager / Correa money, I'd be cautious - like 5/160.
That's for another team - we need to extend Ohtani, not chase a guy who'll always be a Red Sox player in his heart.
This.
If Arte doesn't want to spend $250 million on payroll (his money, that's fine), we don't need another huge position player contract. Spend it on Ohtani San.

Unfortunately, yes.

No, not the injuries. Just for the sh**y contracts. Rendon's at least.
