  1. ebel sending albert was stupid. disabled list here we come!
  2. thanks for amplifying my thoughts. well said.
  3. i aint going for it. watchin Pujols try to run last year made me cringe. he is a station to station baserunner at this stage of his career and if he is not smart enough to protect his wheels we will soon be enjoying him in a new position- dl. his arch problem is a potential career ender.
  4. crazy? already went. maybe pujols just doesn't care about the condition of his wheels. perhaps a better question is if the steal attempt was his idea ? if thats the case he needs a reality check/ass chewing.
  5. This is a minor point- why in the hell did Pujols attempt to steal early in yesterdays game? Did the batter miss a sign? Or was this a sick attempt at humor by our coaching staff? With Pujols known plantar facieitis problem, why would they ever give him the steal sign. That play marks the earliest expended curse words by me in an angel season all time. lots of questions but you guys have all the answers.
  6. i think they were both freezing thier asses off. tough to get loose in 30 degree weather.
  7. "missed it by that much" -maxwell smart
  8. doppler or continous wave illuminating radar? we don't deal in inaccuracys on angels win.com. this is an exact science eh blarg?
  9. attempts are made to quantify everything else in mlb, why not managerial decisions? sure, this may be mostly subjective but looking at game totals would sure generate some good discussion. how about some permanent, distinct criteria- may i suggest: lineup management starting pitching management in game position replacement baseruning and offensive strategy bullpen management Great idea Doc!
  10. rangers front office is a BIG mess. andrus contract is an overpay. i look for the rangers to continue in thier state of confusion on the field and off for some time to come.
  11. "It's an honor just to be on the same field as them" -granny holtz
  12. worth every penny! i like it that it blocks profar. some of the management decisions out of texass lately are interesting, to say the least.
  13. espn is the fox news of sports journalisim. thier programming is one long infomercial for whatever skateboard, poker or jive-ass contest they are broadcasting. quit watching these hacks a long time ago. and no, i'm not watching the battle of texass later tonight.
  14. "Everybody complains about the weather but nobody does anything about it" - Mark Twain
  15. MAN, i hope your right! Watching the bored, apathetic, preoccupied millionares club the entire summer sounds pretty ugly.
  16. mc carver was great on WOR in 1986 doing the mets with ralph kiner and steve zabriski. he seemed really labored when paired with joe buck. have to admit, mccarver has a wealth of baseball knowledge.
  17. this... i like what i saw from calhoun- last year.
  18. i'd hate to face that guy at the plate... messy
  19. loek van mil as 8th inning guy. the guy that bites off chicken heads will close.
  20. class act. don't ever change eric notti
  21. this is true... however, recent results would indicate more work/money is needed. just my very amateur, uninformed and smart ass opinion. evidently, some of my summer evenings appear to be filled with watching a collection of bored millionares losing games 19 to 18. while i love offense in baseball, its not exactly a mystery that pitching wins ballgames. perhaps the gate receipts over the last few years are enough to make everybody nice and complacent, safe and comfortable. i truly admire what Arte and Jerry have done- my question is are they ready to make an even greater commitment?
  22. a meatball sandwich would be better than the shit sandwich this season could be.
  23. it should be interesting to see if thier goal is to put assess in seats or to win a worlds championship. this team has a short time frame in which to win a world championship. with the money they have thrown around on questionable needs, i would think that they would spend in an actual area of need- the bullpen. but is management complacent? there are a few guys out there that could help- valverde for one. short of signing big money guys, how about a cattle call for unemployed relievers? this season will tell if managements stated goal of a world championship is real, or just more marketing tripe.
