  1. Unless the player drafted sucks and Smith plays like he did the past two seasons.
  2. This board really is diverse when the USDA starts posting here.
  3. No you don't. A lot of coaching from everyone went into that one.
  4. Ironically, he is the only first round QB the team has ever taken (and also that was the draft in '83 where he was taken ahead of Jim Kelly and Dan Marino). I actually can't even remember a QB the Chiefs have drafted that has started outside of Brodie Croyle who went something like 0-9. He actually "officially" retired recently which is comical. The only thing good about that dude was his chick.
  5. Giving up a 2nd is kind of in line with recent starting caliber type trades, or guys that teams want to have as a franchise QB. Also, for some reason I think this makes it likely they trade back from #1 and pick up a 2nd from someone. Smith's numbers were pretty sick before he went out with injury. Actually, numbers wise, he was strangely a top 10 QB the past two seasons. I also find it hard to call a guy mediocre that had a different OC every year he's been in the league and whack job defensive coaches like Nolan and Singletary. Get a good coach that works well with QB's like a Harbaugh or Reid and good things can happen. KC also has a new OC and former QB protege of Reid, Doug Peterson.
  6. The guy just turned 21 and looks more solid than pudgy. If he was in his 30's and came into camp heavier than you can be concerned, but not some kid still growing and filling out.
  7. No, all ground beef is mixed bacteria. Quality has nothing to do with the bacteria spread. E. coli is not prejudice to quality hamburger or cheap brands. Now, if you make your own ground beef from sirloin you are likely fine. A lot of quality restaurants ask how you want your burger cooked because they make their own patties. I like my burgers (depending on where I am ordering from) medium as well. Most red meat and fish is fine, it's poultry that you mainly have to worry about with regards to foodborne illness.
  8. Ugh. ESPN has on their bottom ticker the Chiefs gave up a 2nd and a conditional mid round pick in 2014. I think it's too much being that SF was kind of strapped with his contract. Good news is Cassel is set to be cut as well. Dude pulled a Vernon Wells/Carl Pavano like heist.
  9. Copy and paste from Wikipedia is one of my fortes.
  10. I don't think anyone wanted to reach with a trade though for a QB. With KC now locking up a QB, now it looks promising to trade out if some team covets Joekel, Fisher, or Jarvis Jones (who I think is the best prospect). But Star with the heart condition also hinders someone wanting to trade up as many had him at #1 on their boards. Agreed about Warmack. Many are saying he has more upside than DeCastro last year who was one of the most hyped interior linemen in many years. The Chiefs drafted some good prospect OL's last year, but the injuries were tough. So not only do they need depth inside, but Warmack is one of those Will Shields 10+ years maulers. But I never thought the Chiefs were going to reach for Geno Smith like some thought. The front office even said as much. Actually the new GM even said no one was worth the #1 from a QB perspective. I thought they would go best player available if they don't trade back and were going to get a QB in round 2. Now who knows.
  11. I'm not familiar with county lines from many, many years ago, but assume those two were once part of Orange County back then before being LA county.
  12. Katie is right. Steak is a single cut with bacteria just on the outside that cooks off. Ground beef is a mix of beef that puts bacteria on the inside. It also is handled a lot more than a single cut.
  13. Not yet. I think most of the problem was coaching and play calling. We essentially have a Alex Smith in Matt Cassel (the game manager type) and with some quality play calling like Charlie Weiss brought he was a Pro Bowler. He's an upgrade, but he could easily be a Cassel 2.0. Luckily, he thrived in Harbaugh's west coast offense and that's what Reid runs and also has a proficiency of building or making QB's better.
  14. ESPN just did a breaking news on it, aside from nando also posted, and have it up on the site. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8995035/san-francisco-49ers-agree-trade-alex-smith-kansas-city-chiefs-source I'm actually more worried about what KC gave up. Not sure it affects the draft too much, nando. No QB was worth the #1 and now teams that were interested in reaching for one (Jets, Buffalo) can wait to the end of the top 10 where some think a team will reach for Geno Smith. I also think they can resign Albert and still draft Joekel. I wish they would trade back, but no one wants to jump up for anyone in this draft. Trade back and get a guy like Chance Warmack
  15. Word is they are trying to long term deal both Bowe and Albert. If they franchise him again the number goes up significantly.
  16. I like that he is #0 and.... Hall (along with former teammates J. J. Hardy, Jeff Suppan, and Chris Capuano appeared in an episode of CBS' soap opera The Young and the Restless. He served as a special playoff analyst on ESPN's Cold Pizza following the 2006 season. He is also an accomplished tubist.
  17. I don't get it either. There was an article up yesterday that said the only people interested in this is bloggers and OC/SoCal social media.
  18. I actually don't get the Sublime and Snoop listings.
  19. Saw this on a Thrice social media site. Per OC Weekly http://blogs.ocweekly.com/heardmentality/2013/02/top_20_greatest_oc_albums.php The Vandals were solid. Thrice is a definite. And a surprise that I always forget about is Matt Costa who's album they named is really good. Dude used to play at Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa all the time.
  20. Weird. Most people criticize the limp dick fries.
  21. They aren't anymore. As soon as it was announced there was crazy backlash and it seemed just as soon as the announcement to cut back because of production the president released a Twitter message saying something like, "You spoke, we listened" and then followed up with an official article. This would have been a travesty.
