  1. Beer report. Did happy hour at Yardhouse for the veg menu that my company wanted. Dogfish Head 90 minute- Standard that I think most of you have had, Piraat- Good Belgian, but wouldn't be my first choice. (Wanted to try Primo simply because it's made by Pabst, but it was sold out) Went to Liquor Rama and grabbed: Three Philosophers- Really good cherry Belgian that is 8.5. At my local watering hole they have an expansive beer list of 72 that if you do them all you get your own engraved mug, cartoon pic on the wall, and invites to members only parties where they do free food and whiskey/bourbon tasting. I've pathetically done four lists, one in 9 days, and this is on there. Familiar with it and it's worth a try if you like Belgians. The ladies really like it because it's made with 2% cherry juice. Decadence by Alesmith- I feel like I had this before with James, but can't remember. It's a yearly I believe and is unique because it has the light, crisp, and carbonated Belgian style, but is a Quad so it had the thickness and rough aspect. It's 10.5% and only $13. If you are looking to get trashed this will work, but not something I might get again. Not bad when settling and aired out in a goblet.
  2. Yeah, regular stores have craft sections now. You can get Chimay, Arrogant Bastard, or Tremens at just about any store.
  3. Thanks Futch. Sorry I don't know who you are, I don't really know a lot of the new names on the new forum from the old forum. Yeah dude, it has been 2 years since I have been here. Took time off from the nonsense and stuff happening off the board and got caught up with life. I honestly don't remember much of the signing, but the main reason I hated the signing was because it made him the highest paid safety, if I remember correctly. He hasn't bombed like I thought, but he is not really good or worth the contract either which was the claim in my post about his signing. 4/40 with 19m guaranteed is pretty ridiculous for a safety. I'm objective about things so I will say I probably eat crow with his play, but the Chargers eat crow with the contract. He wasn't a star last year, but after he signed the contract he balled...so it's a wash but I'll say I eat crow even though his numbers outside of tackles dropped significantly last year and why he wasn't a Pro Bowler which someone of his contract should be. On a side note, he went to Alta Loma High down the street here. And nando kind of ruined it for me, but as soon as I saw this I instantly thought of and wanted to post this because it was magical to watch at Seaus.
  4. Didn't someone here take a pic of Kobe at an Angels game in Angels gear?
  5. You win. Greinke is the only solid piece given away. Trout will be hard pressed to duplicate such a solid season, but will be solid. And Moustakas is poised for a breakout season.
  6. The look of excitement in her face while bent really does it for me.
  7. Nice. The guy that acts like he's never been there before. Never heard of him either.
  8. I drink a lot of their beers because of the price and value. They have pretty good IPA's and seasonals/specials, but they sell for $5 when they pack a 8%-10% punch.
  9. It's really good. Went there the weekend before last for the first time. Their O de Tart is one of my favorite beers. Good place to drink......flights, growlers, pints. No food, but they have a food truck in front. Good selection and releases, as well. We just created two flights to taste some of the ones we haven't tried yet. It's not like Deschuttes or Stone, but just a simple place to drink quality beer.
  10. Bootleggers is pretty good. I'm more of a Belgian, Strong Ale type, Sour type......even though sours are expensive. Favorite breweries: http://www.cascadebrewing.com http://www.thebruery.com I went to Eureka Burger in Claremont last night because they got in Pliny the Younger, but were doing only flights of that mixed with Russian River Consecration, Russian River Santification, and two others I don't remember. But they were out by the time I got there so I ordered the Russian Rivers and a regular Pliny.
  11. Beer. The official thread. Do you like it? Do you dislike it? Do you drink it in a box? Do you drink it with a fox? List your favorites. List breweries you like. List favorite drinking establishments. List styles you prefer. List great places to drink. List fun thing to do while drinking beer. List stories involving beer. List the state of your liver. Cheers.
  12. What's going on man? Good to see you still around dude.
  13. lol. I remember saying I didn't like ax7's music when the drummer od'ed and it ruffled some feathers and one dude in particular that didn't post too much was going off on everyone that didn't like ax7. Good times on the old board.
  14. Thanks. I'm kind of indifferent. He's a game manager type like Cassel, so I kind of feel like we are getting the same guy. I'll always wonder if Andy Reid could have improved Cassel, but can't deny Cassel has been garbage except for one year with a great OC in Charlie Weiss. Smith isn't elite, but a lot of the analysts are saying Harbaugh gave him confidence by sticking with him and that's when he flourished. KC is doing the same by committing to him with a great draft pick and likely contract extension after March 12th. I don't like giving up so much for him, but as someone said earlier, what does it matter if he plays like last year and does very well. A plus is they have the QB situation set before the draft and FA. So there are a lot more options now since QB was the most pressing need. I'm more excited the new regime is doing something and being active in getting the team in the right direction. They aren't too far off.
  15. Thrice is great. Last year when they did their final tour run the SD, OC, and LA shows sold out so fast. I never even seen anything like that with Ticketmaster. So I bought tickets to the Portland show and we decided to make a trip out of it for a week. (They later added OC dates) A great nostalgic experience, but we also were the lucky ones of the tour because it was the only stop where Dustin came out after the show to the parking lot and did an acoustic set. One of my all time favorite bands.
  16. No, he's right. Some dude said it right except instead of Ripa he said Reepa. Kind of a dick move. Dude was probably over in Iraq murking terrorists and doesn't have the luxury of TMZ. On a side note, how does one get Philburn or Philmurn out of P H I L _ I N?
  17. I go through a Pennywise phase once every two to three years.
  18. Phil is a douche, but is a baller. I still trip out he took down the WSOPE ME with all the quality there. Any idea who it is Scott? I want to make a joke but all that is going through my head is that kid from a couple years ago that was berating everyone on tv and actually got an orbit penalty for it. Props Percy. You can probably get a bunch of pics as the LAPC is winding down. Also, did you play any LAPC events?
  19. I wish I saw a little of his bank account.
  20. lol@firing a singer from a band that hasn't recorded in over 10 years. I'm dropping Temple of the Dog into the grunge debate.
  21. lol. The Raiders are going to fight Jacksonville for worst record in the league. Terrell Pryor is going to be the starting QB soon as Palmer is going to be released.
  22. They are doing an Outside The Lines about him and the situation that is rather interesting. Religiously following European football at least what he is saying follow that guideline of blowing things up if they aren't winning trophies right away, but he doesn't have the history of perennial contenders. What trips me out as I'm watching this is Miami was close to acquiring Albert Pujols last off season for huge dollars. Can you imagine them trying to unload that contract to some team or the return to take on his contract?
