  1. It's funny, after I posted I looked up safeties pay and ironically Eric Berry is the highest paid. Now, he is the best safety in the game, but not worth his contract. Although to justify, his contract is his rookie deal and was part of that last draft in 2010 that had ridiculous rookie contracts where guys were coming into the league as the highest paid at their position before stepping on the field. Berry was one of them and is the highest paid safety in NFL history with that rookie contract.
  2. Here is a recent article: http://www.thestar.com/sports/baseball/2013/02/28/mlb_looking_for_ways_to_protect_pitchers.html I saw an ESPN piece earlier this morning where they had Chris Young and another guy on the show to talk about the experience of getting hit in the face from a line drive. They also did a small bit on McCarthy when Aybar drilled him and he had to have emergency surgery to save his life. Should MLB do anything? Is there anything to do? Are the padded hats doable? Is it just part of the game?
  3. DI was a big influence. It was wishful thinking, but I was hoping Guttermouth made the list. My first show at the Glasshouse.
  4. He puts up numbers, but in garbage time when the team is down by 20 and they have to start airing it out in the second half or at the end of games.
  5. I totally forgot about Something Corporate. I remember the off-shoot as well, Jacks Mannequin.
  6. Not sure on the Primo. I couldn't find it on Beer Advocate, but the one I did find seemed to fit the description. Also, props on your business ventures, HB.
  7. Yeah, I was hoping they changed their schedule to accommodate the time change but still have Euro's and LPGA going. Thanks for the heads up.
  8. At the end of the day, you probably aren't worse than 2-14.
  9. Some guy named Dwayne Bowe who many regard as a top tier WR. (to not sound like a homer, I actually don't like Bowe so much because he is good enough to make too much money, but drops way too many balls or causes turnovers) I don't think they are in bad shape talent wise. Bowe, 1st rounder Baldwin, McCluster, and Moeaki at TE. The previous coaching regime was terrible and the offense and play calling had me turn off games last year. The key is Reid builds game plans around his QB's and that also works with the WR's/TE's. I also think they make a splash with a guy like Mike Wallace.
  10. Anywhere to watch this outside of the Golf Channel at noon?
  11. I've had a few adult refreshments for a parched throat, but if memory serves me correct the ending was ok. It was anti-climactic, but because of the one on one between the two, it seemed fitting to have both sort of duel it out. My gripe would be that it wasn't too creative and kind of a dull ending compared to the rest of the movie and flow.
  12. Thank you, sir. I've come to snuff the rooster.
  13. Some of the best times on AW was avatar games where everyone did Teen Wolf, Saved By The Bell, Asians, or Mad Men cartoons.
  14. Oh killer. He was one of my favorite posters. Also, Nate, who are you? You post familiar, but I don't associate the screen name.
  15. Winnett looks and talks like a lop. I never heard of him and can't find anything on him but Hendon Mob stats.
  16. No, he was associated with another online site. They had their own issues where one of the guys involved basically had an open screen at the tables, he could see the other players cards on his screen as he was playing them. He got popped because luckily poker nerds are extremely smart and were able to mathematically break down his play and stats and see the anomaly on graphs that he was way off the grid with his sessions. There is a whole documentary about it and even a 60 Minutes show on it and the way it's set up with an Indian tribe in Canada. This site was Ultimate Bet. The one you are thinking of is Full Tilt. All sorts of craziness happened there. It's a trip because some of the owners were actual poker players that obviously left the scene because players had money stuck on the site. The funny thing is they recently started playing again and get berated and threatened all the time. All the settlements are done, to my knowledge. Pokerstars bought them out and are paying back all the players, but through the DOJ which requires some form and is going to be a bitch for people to get paid back.....no clue whether people will get paid or if it's going through the DOJ with tax ramifications. The site is actually back up as of recently under new ownership.
  17. I thought this was going to be about the Like and Dislike threads that used to go down here.
