  1. Lay off these guys man. Standing on a baseball field for a couple hours intertwined with sitting on a bench and four times having to swing a heavy bat. Not to mention possibly having to run 90 feet some of those four times...or worse, up to 360 feet. That's a lot to ask for a human being in his prime to do 6-7 days a week.
  2. MLB.com mock draft -- Mayo. The reasoning for a college OF (they've gone the college that past two drafts) seems really odd considering we have a brand new GM now. If they do go OF bat (esp college) all you can do is lol and drank a lot. The one area we are way overly stocked in is 19-22 year old OFs. https://www.mlb.com/news/mock-mlb-draft-2021?partnerId=zh-20210426-156906-MLB&qid=1026&bt_ee=e%2BihjYCsBecqSxMDml%2FdqKlZlgMcDJuRPygwhLHmPfHovERcYzwqZds5sB822N8a&bt_ts=1619437478170 9) Angels: Colton Cowser, OF, Sam Houston StateThe Angels have gone the college route in the first round for the last two years, and while Sam Houston State isn’t a huge program, Cowser’s hit for average and power all spring.
  3. There isn’t any harm. More power to you. I’m just having fun with some cold drinks today while the Angels get blown out.
  4. Ha! Forgot about them. No - little more North in the neighboring county. But I did have a couple very close friends go there.
  5. Meh. College is overrated and it doesn’t define me. I’m not one of those guys. That’s just me. It did it’s purpose though for my career. but if you must know one, I’ll just say this - the only college Bb/fb games I’ve ever gone to in person and team I follow wears blue/gold, has a hairy mascot and is in a nice area of SoCal - you might have heard of it.
  6. I have several degrees and a masters. So I went to multiple schools for such.
  7. At least this game day thread has been WAY more entertaining than the game itself.
  8. I have a long and very distinguished educational background too. But I’m not bringing it up all the time and using it to downgrade some others. Sounds like maybe someone is overcompensating for something that isn’t up to snuff?!?!
  9. Sorry - I didn’t mean the excuse of stats. I meant overall having an excuse for the bad P results year after year - injuries, bad defense, bad luck, etc. It’s always something. One common thing is the Angels have a mediocre or worse than league average team. While having the best player in baseball and a top 15-30% payroll. How/why?!?!?
  10. Hey, believe me, I hope those advance stats prove to be correct and we see good results going forward. But it’s the same excuse song & dance year after year. At some point though you got to admit that you are what your record is - and that’s mediocre at best for the Angels.
  11. Hmm I said angels SP suck over off-season and got soooo much flack over it. Like I was the crazy one. On and on about the improvement over prior guys. Blah blah blah. It’s still early. Hopefully it gets turned around quickly and I turn out to be the village mlb idiot. I really hope so. Otherwise gonna be a loooong boring mlb summer.
  12. At least the team is in place and setup to win next year with SP rotation, BP, SS, RF.......oh wait, never mind.
  13. Bingo 100%. Top heavy team -- it's been that way for years now. Everything needs to go right (injuries, lucky, etc.) for a team like that to succeed. Especially so in a full 162 game season. Rarely happens. Cream rises. Depth is the #1 problem for this team and the organization. Whether that be big league players graduating to the team from minors, stars arriving, simply league average guys or just guys who are not league average but can not cuss-the-bed for the occasions games/ABs they get due to injuries, etc. It's slowly changing (i think/hope)...but still a ways to go.
  14. And a late effort Spurs win without Kane today to boot!
  15. thought for sure Angels would be leading league in giving up BBs -- nope. Only 12th. However, we have 2-3 less games than most teams, so really we're around 5-7th range.
  16. He forgot where he was supposed to stand. Go the the X and throw the ball Quintana. Listen to your teacher.
