  1. New LA Angels team motto: We're "decent" Pretty inspiring & exciting -- ready to re-up those season tix
  2. The more things change - the more they stay the same. If you want to continue seeing something else or more is coming, that’s on you.
  3. Heaney > Walker (someone seriously wants to sign Walker to a 2-3 year deal....yikes risky). Arguably Heaney > Odorizzi (at worst the same...but i'd rather extend Heaney than pay 3+ years to Odorizzi).
  4. Isn't that exactly what the Angels are though?!? I do kind of understand your point, it's just funny i guess
  5. It's a sad state of affairs of the Angels team, FO and salary situation when a 35 year old "half-way decent" SP is considered a positive. Kind of says it all.
  6. All the harassment allegations and WWE fight promotions are simply a coverup for what is plainly an absolutely horrible trade. It's a Government plan to get you to look away from the evil of yet another crappy one year (& OLD) SP for the LA Angels being acquired. Now back to your AW Housewife shenanigans.
  7. Lol that’s funny. Bummer for you uglies though. I feel sorry sometimes for you all. But at least they have the internet now to make things a bit easier.
  8. it's not just a bad trade -- it's a "why" trade. Sure JJ might not be THAT high in value, but why get Cobb at all? Why get another one year guy? Why pay him so much $$? Why not use some of the assets (JJ) to combine with others and get something of actual value SP wise for 2021 (and maybe beyond).
  9. Nope -- my life is awesome. As to my angels, the only thing i wanted was for them to draft a SP in the 1st round of the draft and they finally did (yeah!). So now all i want from them is to do the same in the 2021 draft. I have very small desires when it comes to the Angels. I just find it funny the annual Angel fans high hopes for TOR SP and then reality hits....and then the stages of grief to where some start convincing themselves it'll be good. Then the season begins and reality hits. So it must suck to think everything is great in Winter/Spring with your Angels and then pain all summer long. I'm going to live in the real world, not fantasyland.
  10. Look how quickly some are moving into "acceptance". Guess practice makes perfect.
  11. 2021 2022 Bundy _____ Heaney _____ Quintana _____ Canning Canning Cobb _____ Ohtani Ohtani
  12. Yeah like getting a top FA SP has worked so well for us the past few years. It's like freaking Groundhog Day (year more accurately).
  13. Tell me how many of those guys have a pitched a full 30+ start season ever in their life. Because we need 5 of them (6 if you count Othani). I got a full cup of coffee...i'll wait to hear. Thx!
  14. Hahahaha. What a joke. Like clockwork. I can't wait to hear how some will spin this into something good/positive. i see 1-2 already trying.
  15. Come on -- no brainer. It's Godzilla every day. This looks like a made-for-Hollywood make-believe BS...pumping up King Kong when he has no chance against an opponent like Godzilla. Like Rocky against Clubber Lang or Drago. Stupid Hollywood...It's absolutely ridiculous.
  16. Well true there is always worst - Skaggs, Adenhart, etc. But the point here is Moore was low cost $3M. So any worst happening...does not hurt you financially
  17. It won't happen because the Angels have too much talent to stay competitive and within the ALW/WC playoff race. But dang imagine the returns they could get at trade deadline time if they sold with all these important pieces on one year deals: SPs (Bundy, Heaney & Quintana), closer (Iglesias), shortstop (Iglesias)....and the biggest/best/most valuable (lol) of all -- PUJOLS!
  18. This was a really good low risk signing. Wish it was the Angels. At worst, he could move into the BP and become a pretty good RP....who provides some SP depth with potential upside. Bummer.
  19. The real problem was the lack of drafting (US draft & Int'l FA) pitchers and developing them internally. This goes back the last 5-8 years prior to the 2020 draft. Signing pitchers in FA are actually a very bad investment in general & historically speaking.
  20. it's too early in this off-season to even make a determination on him for this off-season. So it's incomplete. Having said that, so far from what we've done, it sure seems like team that is more in the long-term 2-3+ years out phase while still trying to be competitive right now (without going all-in). So pretty much the same organizational mindset as last couple years. Now all that can change drastically with a FA signing here and trade there. But they've made minor changes -- decrease at SS, increase at closer, slight increase at SP, nothing at RF, even or less at BP (besides closer). Basically all the adds for 2021 are one year deals. So no improvement (except salary flexibility) to the team beyond 2021 -- maybe some extension are coming which will change this but nothing so far. I'm not so sure i'd be all that happy about the 2021+ direction of the team FO/ownership-wise if I were Trout/Rendon. Waiting for proposects to come make a difference.
