if he can find a way to get a solid, controllable starter for guys who's names are not Fletcher, Rengifo, or Canning, then I would be thrilled.  I wouldn't be opposed to including someone like Suarez or Barria in a Boyd deal.  I'm sure there would have to be a sweetener or two from the minors that we wouldn't like to lose.

What is with you guys and this bum Boyd?  Why in hell would anyone believe this dude has any value.....

MLB is a $10 billion business.  Ten years ago, it was a $6 billion business.

Arte Moreno bought the Angels for $180 million sixteen years ago. They are allegedly worth more than ten times that.

The sky isnt falling. The sport isnt dying.

    Boras makes some excellent points.

LOL....Boras gives two shits about the integrity of MLB. He’s all about the spin and how it ultimately leads to putting money in his pocket. The guy is an extraordinary businessman and master manipulator.

This is infuriating. MLB needs to take stern action to ensure this never happens again:

    1. Void the Astros 2017 WS Title, and declare no team a winner.

    2. Void Altuve's 2017 MVP Title and give it to Trout instead. I knew there was something fishy about a 3"6 midget hitting like Ted Williams. Wtf.

    3. Suspend AJ Hinch for the entire 2020 season without pay.

    4. Astros will forfeit their #1 and #2 draft pick for the next 10 seasons.

    5. Investigate which players willfully participated in this and suspend them 60 games next season, starting with Evan Gattis.

Lol...Gattis hasn’t played since 2018 because nobody wants to sign his fat ass.  So yes, he suspended himself by being a one dimensional fat ass.

Well you could say outside of 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2008 the the red uniforms were worn by a mediocre loser for almost two decades!

Let's be honest, the franchise does not have a storied history no matter what uniforms they wore.

    2002, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008,2009 and 2014 and a world championship is a hell of a lot more successful than 1979, 1982,1986

Seriously though. Does anyone know what kind of theme they'd use to make this an Orange County or Southern California specific stadium?

The Dodgers went heavy on the palm trees, which is a good move, the Padres kept the Western Metal Supply building and the surrounding areas have a vibrant San Diego theme.

What could the Angels do to make this a unique visual experience? The whole rocks and water fall theme in CF is more California in general, it at least the places North of Southern California, and that worked while they were the California Angels. But they aren't representing an entire state anymore.

Maybe lush orange groves as a throwback to the area's history? Or maybe Arte is more interest on identifying as Los Angeles specific as the name would suggest, so palm trees like the Dodgers. Maybe some sort of beach theme?

I'd like to hear other ideas.

Here’s a theme that fits OC today and they won’t need to go far to incorporate it...

Who is going to be the bench coach?

Well, the first LA Times story reporting that Maddon was getting the job (not the stories about the press conference announcement - the story about a week before that) -- had a lot of glowing quotes about Maddon from DiSar.

DiSar was a coach on.Callaway's NY Mets staff (was he first base coach ? Hopefully he wasn't third base coach -- Loved DiSar as a player but for us the two years he was third base coach, I think we had more guys thrown out at the plate than any other MLB team -- and we had guys cut down at third as well -- he was a total disaster the two years he was Halos third base coach) --

Anyway -- that initial LA Times story full of DiSar quotes praising Maddon sure read like either a job interview for Bench Coach or a job application for the job.

Not sure if that approach is going to work or not --

but with the Callaway hire, don't be surprised if DiSar rejoins the Angels once again in some capacity,

    No!
