  1. The A's are anything but a random ass team thrown together. If anything, they are more carefully crafted than the Angels are. Beane goes in with a purpose and executes it to perfection.
  2. Keeping him is not going to make things better either. We have had the same crap the last 3-4 years. It is a start. You can't cut all the players.
  3. Feel bad for Greinke. Always liked the guy. I loved Mattingly's responses too.
  4. Anyone. Should have been done last offseason/year anyways. Need a new voice and a guy with energy.
  5. It's less about who they would hire and more about putting these idiots on point. Maybe they will get it through their skulls that "oh crap, we just got our manager fired". Even though Scioscia has done his fair share to this point.
  6. It is going to be awesome when we win 2 of 3 from Houston and everyone thinks things are great. Then we will face Detroit and Texas and get destroyed again.
  7. This is what 3rd, 4th and 5th place teams say. Not a team that is supposed to compete for a championship.
  8. **** this team. Unbelievable. Every ****ing year. Same shit over and over. Send a ****ing firing shot at somebody. I don't know how many more games I can sit through looking at Scioscia's stupid ****ing face with that dumb look he always has on it. Get rid of this guy who has no clue how to motivate a ball club and get someone in there that will kick these guys' asses. Enough of this pansy ass crap.
  9. Scioscia has to go. Been saying it for years.
  10. Fire Scioscia. We won't win again with that Dodger running the team.
  11. You guys said the same shit last year. It's a long season, it's early, blah blah blah.
  12. Agree. Still pretty exciting stuff.
  13. Video is not yet available, but you can access it through gameday on mlb.com. Kemp had a pitch thrown over his head and then Greinke hit Quentin. Quentin charged the mound and a pretty good scrum ensued. Quentin, Kemp, and Hairston ended up getting ejected after a second dust up ensued. It was pretty awesome. Must be nice to watch some teams that show some passion and intensity. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2013_04_11_lanmlb_sdnmlb_1&mode=gameday
  14. Worse pace than last year! Woohoo!
  15. I was talking about this tonight. We just throw cock shots all day long. Anybody want to buy my mini-plan? I feel like an idiot for letting them rope me into an $800 purchase 4 days prior to Opening Day.
  16. This is just flat out not true. People have been complaining about Scioscia consistently the last 2+ years.
  17. Napoli-Mathis situation, Trumbo-Wells situation, bullpen/pitching change management, players do not perform to expectations under him, lack of intensity from the outsider's view, questionable bunt strategies, questionable lineups last year, lack of willingness to bench veterans, stubbornness to change, slow starts, missing the playoffs the last three years, and no leftover lasagna. It is not just because of this year. It is a culmination of the years prior as well as another poor start this year.
  18. Scioscia does not have guys coming after him because you could probably say he is a "player's manager". He lets guys go out and do their thing and if they aren't performing he is sure to say that "so and so will turn it around" or "the ball came out of his hand real well last time" even though he got crushed. Scioscia never throws anyone under the bus, which I sort of applaud, but it seems like that is the last thing this under achieving team needs is a passive, polite, nice coach. I really feel this team can benefit from a new voice, one with some fire and passion. Someone new to the position that has to prove himself. Scioscia has been there and done that and it really reflects in his style, which comes off as very passive and complacent to the fans. His teams don't show energy like a Texas or San Francisco. Maybe that is just the way these guys are and if so, then that is unfortunate. Baseball is supposed to be fun and it just seems like Scioscia has everyone walking on eggshells. As much as I crucify the guy, it is not 100% fair for me to say he is a bad manager and everything is his fault. Does he make a lot of calls that I deem very questionable? Of course. Does he do a lot of things well? Of course. Sometimes a new, fresh voice is just needed and like a poster said earlier, it is easier to get that change from the top then it is too overhaul the whole roster. This team should not be 2-6. The team last year should not have missed the playoffs. At the end of the day, winning and losing falls on the manager.
  19. This. As critical as I am of Scioscia, at least he is sticking with something for once instead of pulling names from a hat like last year. The offense has been there. It is the situational hitting/hitting with RISP that is missing.
  20. In English, the phrase fly in the ointment is an idiomatic expression for a drawback, especially one that was not at first apparent.
  21. Which one of our overpaid players doesn't have a NTC? Ship them out.
