    If the #Angels are going to sign Rendon then they might as well trade Simmons to clear salary and move Fletcher to SS. Our infield is STACKED and the last place we need a premier player. You might as well trade for Betts while you're at it Arte since you drool over offense.

    And we know that because look at who wins World Series. Teams like the Red Sox, National and Astros** who all had an incredible rotation. If he gets Rendon then where hell does Fletcher go? Dude was a nominee for a GG at 3B. Unless you trade Simmons which I doubt they do.

    Agreed. I'd only take Price if they throw in Betts. If that's the case then they won't eat any of his salary and we'd give them a ton of prospects back. Angels are going to shit on themselves with Rendon which makes 0 sense and then get Ryu who will NEVER repeat the season he had. Only chance is for Eppler to make a big trade and screw the system over.

    In the last 2 years Eppler has whiffed on Corbin, Eovaldi, Wheeler, Strasburg and Cole. Now they're going to overpay for Bumgarner, Ryu and Price

    I wonder if their meeting with Boras today included that. Maybe Boras told Eppler "he wants to come to Anaheim, but wants Rendon or someone to do so as well". Thus making Eppler say "What if I cleared Cozart's salary and went heavy after Rendon and/or Ryu/Price". Boras then said "Let's see it".

    Simmons will want more than $15M AAV then. Could be a good chance to trade him now

    If the Angels feel confident enough in Fletcher and their chance to sign Rendon then they’d likely go for it I think. Or they deal away Rengifo for someone, but yes, Simmons would yield little return.

    I would say call me crazy, but I’ve also been saying we should trade Cozart to dump salary and look what happened. Seems like anything is possible now

    My point exactly. If they sign Rendon then they have their third basemen. Fletcher takes SS with LaStella/Rengifo going for 2B and LaStella/Pujols/Thaiss for 1B.

    I still think Eppler does a big trade for more salary relief. That could open the door to a hell of a lot of options. signing Cole, Rendon and maybe even more
