  1. Article about the kid we’re signing… Says good all around defense… good contact hitter… could have power potential in future https://www.mlb.com/news/top-cuban-free-agent-prospects-in-2022?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage
  2. May 23, 1994... I was 13 years old Doggies vs Cubs in Dodgers Stadium Right field bleachers right next to Cubs bullpen Spent most of the game heckling Cubs bullpen catcher Dan Simonds about him being my hero... Cubs bullpen was egging me on... by the fifth inning Simonds started negotiating with me to shut up... we cut a deal where I'd stop cheering for him for a ball... and then a Cubs pitcher (don't remember who it was) nixed the deal demanding that the ball be signed and that I wouldn't accept any other deal... Simonds then signed a ball and tossed it up to me and I stopped heckling... Dan Simonds and the whole Cubs bullpen were really cool people that night... Doggies lost 6-3... Dodgers pitcher Kevin Gross hit a three run homer in that game... also got to see Mark Grace, Ryan Sandberg, Sammy Sosa, Roger McDowell (from Seinfeld episode), Dan Plesac (from MLB Network), Mike Piazza, Eric Karros and former Angels great Raul Mondesi play in this game... I remember the Cub fans in our section being funny when being heckled... by the end of the game I was cheering for the Cubs... and the Dodger fans in my section demanding that my brother make me walk home for being a traitor... it was a fun game, our section had nothing but playful clowns in it... don't think anybody cared for the game as much as just bantering and clowning around.
  3. after seeing this I went back and changed my quote on my original post from above... thank you Blarg for wising me up
  4. Conger definitely deserves to have his number 16 retired
  5. Kobe Bryant was better than all of them... “Meet Me in Temecula” https://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2014/12/26/7449927/snottiedrippin-temecula-christmas-twitter-fight-kobe-bryant
  6. So basically the Angels can carry Upton for 80% - 90% of the PLAYING year and then trade him with a prospect to another team to show that they carried all the money for him for the season (even though he played for the Angels for most of the time)... lowering their payroll below the luxury tax mark?
  7. Can't wait for the offseason review thread sometime next year (during the season) where we compare stats / production of all the players everybody wanted and didn't want
  8. Option 4 re-sign Pujols to an extension is my opinion of where we go
  9. https://www.tampabay.com/sports/baseball/rays/how-the-big-a-helped-inspire-jake-farias-big-league-dream-and-first-kiss/2330482/ This kid is one of our own, grew up an Angels fan, hope he does well for us and his career takes off
  10. maaaaybe... but what about a lefty version of Ralston Schmidt?
  11. Yes Lasorda is a clown... so Buca management asked to have a picture with everyone afterwards, Tommy agreed only if I wasn't part of the pic. I was cool with it under one circumstance as long as I could get a pic with Bill Bavasi, which I got... have to find it one of these days and post it here.
  12. Funny story... Tommy Lasorda yelled at me once because of this. It was early 2003, I was working at Buca Di Beppo in Universal City Walk as a food server and a party of 15 dodger executive came in and management trolled me (as a young man I was a passionate dodger hater) by giving the big party to me. Being a professional and HAVING NO CHOICE I took the table in the Pope Room and greeted everyone as they walked in, showing no emotions and just going through motions... and then I see Bill Bavasi (who was working for the dogs at that time) walking up and my enthusiasm went to another level. NO JOKE my exact quote "Dude Bill Bavasi!!" as I walked up to him and shook his hand and pull him in for a bro hug. Poor guy thought the other people in the party put me up to this (he actually asked them) and then I started talking about how my enthusiasm and appreciation was real for all that he's done for the Angels. I went on a rant TO THE WHOLE ROOM about how most of the players on our World Series winning team were picked by him and how he deserves a lot of the credit for everything. It was a real awesome moment for me. So get everything set up during the meal, go extra all out for Bill Bavasi and then get the wrath of Tommy Lasorda at the end. Tommy basically said something along the lines of a what makes a great comedian a great comedian is knowing the crowd they're dealing with and that I should've known better being in Los Angeles and not showing the dodgers respect and something about me not being raised right. The whole time I'm smiling and laughing cause it was funny the reaction I was getting and Tommy walks out of the Pope Room to our manager standing outside telling the manager to find a better server with better taste in baseball. Bill Bavasi and few other guys who walked out last went up to the manager and told him that Tommy was joking and that I was a good server... Bill Bavasi hung out for a few minutes more afterwards and gave me an extra $20 for the service and thanked me for my appreciation. Bill Bavasi is a cool dude.
  13. 18th Said something about Adell being a stud and Marsh being close to it as well... also talked about how many of our players took a step back last year and or were injured... said something about us being in worse shape this year than we were a year ago because we traded our first round pick from last year to clear Cozart's contract... ended with talking about how most of our top prospect are super young and that we have to wait a bit to actually see what's up.
  14. A-Rod once blew a kiss to me in between pitches with Jeter laughing his ass off cause I was heckling A-Rod on how pretty I thought he was... Also Lance Berkman and I playfully went at it for a whole game when I was sitting behind the Stros dugout... during the game I saw him signing a ball to which he walked over and gave to me, only to find out moments later he didn’t really sign the ball but wrote Suck My Balls on it which got a good laugh out of all of us in our group and the Stros bench
  15. Dude I really don’t think payment would be needed for that action with Tdawg
  16. just texted a friend who's a huge Marlin's (yeah I too was shocked to know there is such a thing when we first met) and he said he liked Keller a lot and that he thinks this kid could be a serviceable bullpen guy in the future

  18. ... and HalosHangout strikes again...On December 20th ettin created a Chris Archer trade target thread and hours ago HalosHangout posted an article with strikingly similar talking points to what was in ettin's original thread
  19. Their feed comes up a lot on Bleacher Report and most of the topics HalosHangout writes about are blatant ripoffs of things that are talked about here. Like you know how Chuck posted something about what is the most you would trade for Mike Clevinger a day ago, which will be a NEW article on their site a day or two after
