  1. I think Helton gets in this year. And yes, he is EXTREMELY underrated, most likely due to spending his career playing home games at Coors. He was such a well-rounded player though. Lofton should be in, too.
  2. I must say that I will have a great sense of Schadenfreude when the Dodgers once again get bounced from the NLDS to some scrub team that won 88-90 games.
  3. I'm sure it would be Hiroshima on August 7, the day after it was bombed. Nagasaki wasn't bombed until August 9.
  4. Yes. I also have the first pick in my NL fantasy league, so I do have a rooting interest. But yes.
  5. Why not just leave the DH position and grab some decent depth options to spell Trout and Rendon, so they can occasionally DH to try to keep them healthy? I don't think the DH "position" needs to have a full-time occupant.
  6. It's also because he's 25 years old. The Angels could sign him and he'd still be in their rotation the next time the Angels are WS contenders...in 2030.
  7. None of that is ever going to happen as long as Arte owns the team, so the rest is moot.
  8. Arte prefers to create his own hurdles where there was previously a smooth path.
  9. There are a lot of them in Reno, too. Not sure how many of them are relocated NorCal denizens. I'd say you dodged a bullet not getting tix to that snoozefest on Sunday.
  10. Allow me (who lives in the same state the Raiders are currently located in...for now...until they bail again...) to talk shit about that Commitment to Excrement. They suck, man. They have for a generation. And, as a Broncos fan, I couldn't be more pleased.
  11. Jays fans have now had a taste of the "Buttercup Experience".
  12. There is precedent. Ted Williams played for the Red Sox and never even played a postseason game. The Sox and Indians played a 155th game for the AL pennant in 1948, but the Indians won that game 8-3. Williams went 1-4.
  13. I'm glad he got paid. He deserves to. Does he deserve nearly 3/4 of a billion dollars? Does anyone, really? I'm glad the Angels aren't paying him that much.
