Ohtani idolized Darvish. I don't see why he wouldn't love playing with him. 
If the Angels can get Darvish at 4/80 or 5/100 they should pounce. Darvish was still one of the 15 best starters in baseball last year despite his down year. And he pitched far more like himself while he was with the Dodgers.

i don't think the Angels would want him at 6/160. Nor should they.
He pitched way more like himself while he was with the Dodgers.  And Kershaw sucked often in the playoffs too. It happens even to the best of them.
His numbers were much better away from Arlington. And he really only had one terrible month (7+ ERA).
He was still one of the best pitchers in baseball.
 
 

Machado will be a FA in 1 year. You don't trade all that for a player you're only guaranteed to have for one year and then would have to pay likely around $250-300 million just to keep.

I'd like to see the Angels sign Darvish  and trade a SP (Skaggs?) for Hernandez.
Ohtani-Darvish-Richards would be a fearsome trio that no team would want to face.

I don't think the Angels would ever consider trading for Stanton if it'd prevent them from keeping Trout.

Meh. Don't really care. Stanton was never a need for the Angels. He would've been a nice luxury to have, that's it.

It still feels surreal. I almost felt resigned that it'll be the Mariners who get him, with them making that strange move yesterday. 
Kudos to Eppler and everyone else who made this possible. 

Pujols' contract expires just a year after Trout's does. And we can't discount the possibility that he will retire a lot sooner than that (does anyone see Pujols playing until 2021?)
