  1. Really good points. But a few things, If the opportunity presents itself, and Anderson continues pitching at this level or close to Mid 3 ERA, with his age and stuff, I think you have to take a chance and sell high. Padres are a perfect trade partners for this. regarding Wards, A team like the Royal may consider it due his team friendly contract and another year of control. For the angels, you could replace his bat on the free agent market. I also don't think that trading Anderson and Ward implies it a full rebuild. Plus you save up about 15 to 20 mil, that could easily be spent to replace Ward and Anderson, while also improving depth in the system. The Way I see it is, that we trade 2 main guys, for 6 guys, that help the system, clears up salery. ETC.
  2. Actually Quite a few prospects in outside of top 100 go on to have solid Major League careers. Plus, most of these guys are projected to be close to the majors and each one has the upside to be solid starters or more. I'll provide an assessment of these guys; Highest Overall Upside: 1. Wallace, he has the ability to be a gold-glove calibrate 3rd baseman, a position that we need. He's a well-rounder hitters, that projects to be an every day third-baseman. While the power is the big question. Ceiling: 270-280, 20+ HRs, 350 OBP, 10-15 SB Likely-Hood: 270-280, 15 to 20 Hrs, 330-345 OBP, 10-15 SB 2. Blake Wolters, he's 19 year old Kid with big upside, Fastball is 94 to 96, good slider that could flash plus at times, lack of third pitch is concern. However he's still so young that his upside is big, but so is bust potential. Highest Offensive-Upside; 1. Pauley, basically put he is one guy that could be in most top 100 lists, however defense is the biggest knock on him. He doesn't have a clear position, beside 1st base/DH or average at 2nd/Lf. But the bat is his true calling card, he has a plus hit tool, with plus plate discipline and above-average power. His ceiling is a 300 hits, 350-360 OBP, and 20 home-rune guy. Its a ceiling he can reach. Pitching: Mazur provides a solid #3 upside, plus has the command to be more. barnett, is more of a back of the rotation upside, but he close and teams always needs guys like him with options, and have good stuff.
  3. Given the disappointing start to the season, it seems sensible to begin considering potential trade candidates on our team and what's available on the market. This year, there should be a focus on stocking up in the farm system while still keeping a good amount of our MLB talent. So, let's get started. 1. Anderson could be our biggest trade asset in the pitching market. He's had a decent start this year, though some metrics suggest a potential decline. But if he keeps up his performance and has an ERA around 3.5-3.6 by the trade deadline, with another year of control, we should sell high on him! - The other team is the Padres. They're pushing hard for a playoff run, but they're really in need of pitching, especially with the news of Musgrove's injury this year. With Anderson, he could slot in as either their third or fourth pitcher. The trade: * Padres get Anderson, Estevez, Plus 5 Mil * Angels get: Adam Mazur, Graham Pauley, and Victor Lizarraga Neither of these 3 prospects are in the top 100, but both Mazur and Pauley provide an interesting talent, while Lizarraga could be the wild card of the trade. Mazur, is an interesting prospect, whose main tool is his Plus-Plus command, with a plus slider and a 92-96 MPH FB, with the upside of a #3. Pauley’s biggest knock is hit defense, he projects to be a corner outfield,1b/dh with plus plate discipline and the potential to be a 15-20 HR guy. Lizarraga, has the tools to be a dominate starter, but he still needs refinement of his stuff, he also has a potential ceiling of #3 and if his stuff take another jump, there could be more. 2. Ward, I think, is our second-best trade asset. After some struggles, he's finally heating up, hitting over .300 in the past seven games. He's currently projected to be a 3-WAR player, which could fetch us a good return with a year left before free agency. - The Royals are in dire need of offensive help in the outfield. Ward could be the perfect acquisition, providing a middle-of-the-order bat for them. The Trade: * Royals get Ward, Moore and Drury * Angels get: Cayden Wallace, Mason Barnett, and Blake Wolters. Once again none of these guys are in any top 100 list, however Blake Wolters is a potential arm that could leap into a top 100, while Wallace has the makings of being an above-average 3rd baseman, and Barnett looks like a solid 4th/5th starter in the majors. With these two trades, or similar trades, we can easily stock-pile our farm system with talent that is close to reaching the MLB and solid depth, while getting some high-upside youngsters. Now the question, will Arte sell?
  4. Just hoping the best for Fontenele. These type of injuries are tough to recover from. Wishing him the best.
  5. Not watching the game, looks like Detmers is struggling with his control. really need him to come thru here How has Fb Velo looked today?
  6. I truly do believe that this team is better than what there record indicates! They've just had a rough week. Starting; 1. Both Detmers and Anderson have been brilliant! 2. Sandoval has pitched much better than what his ERA suggests. Outside of his 1 bad start against the Reds, he's been averaging 5 innings and 3 er, Which isn't bad four a #4 starter. 3. Canning, is the guy that needs to step it up, He has looked better in his last 3 games. Hopefully they've figured something out. Offense; Loosing trout and Rendon hurts, but there are still some key pieces in the line-up that need to step up or have shown good production. 1. Neto last 15 games has been hitting 302 with a slug over 500. 2. Rengifo has been our best hitter and he has OPS over 800 3. Nolan is also starting to see the ball better, average over 300 last 15 games. Just need for XBH hits from him. 4. O'hoppe is the guy that we really to start hitting again. it seem like he's been in pull mode to much. need him to start driving the ball up the middle and get back how he was early in the season. 5. Ward's another guy that had been slumping but has started to pick it up last 7 games. 6. With Sano out too, Drury is the guy we need to get it going! One thing I would like to see is the top portion of the line-up being connected together as such. 1. Schaneul 2. Adell 3. Rengifo 4. Ward 5. O'hoppe 6. Drury 7. Adrianza 8. Moniak 9. Neto
  7. Getting more playing time and finding a rhythm should hopefully help Moniak! Similar to how Rengifo and Adell have looked with more playing time. It's his opportunity, use the entire filed and hit for contact.
  8. Personally I hope they don't do this. I would prefer them to just allow both Rada and Dana to stay in the minors, get there Reps and Develop. Both still have soon to develop both physically and learn the game. I think Rada is still 2 years away from the bigs. He's 18, and his body is still developing, so let him develop. Earliest I can see him reaching the majors is 20 Dana, I think is a Candidate for next year. The goal for this year should be 100 innings. But Guys That I could see called up this season; 1. Koch, In a BP or 4/5th type of role. He's on the 40 man, so might as well give him a shot if we're out of it. 2. Mederos 3. some of the AA BP arms 4. Fontenelle, maybe towards the end of the season to get a cup of taste 5. Hurtado could be another guy that might sneak into the MLB roster towards the end. He's only had 1 bad inning, in which he walked 6 guys, and allowed 6 runs, but overall has been solid. Really would like him to reach AA soon, and see how he does. Middle of the rotation upside with Hurtado.
  9. Honesty Good to see Dana in the top 100! He deserves it! Still think he should be in the top 50, and I don't 100 % agreed with BA assessment of him and think he's better than the grades given to him.
  10. he should only be platooning with Moniak or late inning replacement.
  11. With Trout out for the time being, might go with; 1. Schanuel 1b 2. Adell cf (Grawd hope he's breaking out for reals, we need) 3. Rengifo 2b ( probably our 2nd best overall hitter) 4. Ward LF( best hitter, power needs to come around) 5. O'hoppe C ( needs to start using the whole field approach, has been to pull happy) 6. Drury 3b (hopefully he's coming around) 7. Moniak Cf ( he's finally going to get his extended opportunity, needs to run away with it) 8. DH (who do we have? I would consider bringing up another Backup C, and give thaiss some time at Dh 9 l. Neto.( hopefully he's turning it around)
  12. I believe Perry and Arte should consider incorporating yoga and massager into our team's overall health regimen. Numerous studies have shown its physical and mental benefits, which could help alleviate the strains and stresses our bodies experience.
  13. holy shit...I can't even anymore. Wtf.... guess with Rendon going down, it was just a matter of games for trout to follow.
  14. Not really, I would say it was back in 2014 that the system was ranked the "worst system ever" . There's still potential and high end talent in this system, and also some disappointments. I won't lie, we are pretty lack-lustered on the offense side of things, but the overall system is not the worst. Like I said in my previous post, I think there are 4 guys that could be in the top 100 or top 150 range.
  15. No doubt about the power projection and size difference. However, Rada's lack of power is easily compensated by his speed upside. Plus, it's not as if De Paula is hitting many home runs at the moment. Overall, with Rada, you're looking at a ceiling of a top-of-the-lineup base stealer and a Gold Glove centerfielder, while with De Paula, you're looking at a middle-of-the-order bat as an above-average corner outfielder.
