I would have to hypothetically add Baldoquin to that what if. Who did we miss out on because of this sign?

Jones must of really been pressing with his 0~12 start, I'm glad he got a couple hit's last night.

Baldoquin still has nice hands and transfer, but he can't hit a ball 250 ft, he looks smaller, and seems to be just going through the motions. Had the Angels not spent 16 million on him I wonder where he would be right now.

Questions for Inland Empire players
Dugout replied to Brent Maguire's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
Ask the Coaches who are some hitters at the lower levels that they liked this spring. -
Thaiss went to Inland and Jones is in Burlington. And Baldoquin got bumped back down to low A....ouch!

I was surprised how well he done, and he did a good job of breaking things down and explaining why they did this or why they did that. Some guys are great ball players, but suck at other things like coaching or talking...I'm already tired of Smoltz!

He's genuine.

He probably played less baseball than any other kid in the draft. He comes from a cold climate state with bad competition, and he skipped his Junior summer of baseball by reclassifying to the 2016 class. On another website I saw that he only played 18 HS games compared to Florida or southern California who plays 30-40 quality HS games. He got paid for his extreme tool set(off the charts). He was a first rounder in the 2017 draft, so I think that the Angels got two first rounders last year. If he pans out this could be a big piece for a long time. I saw that he hit .326 the last 10 games last year, so Im ready to watch him get going.

Sometimes I think that these folks just look at stats. There is so much more to a 18 or 19 year old kid learning to play baseball in the dessert. Some guys are learning a new position, and some are struggling with their new hitting methods. If a kid is very athletic and doing a lot of things right, and the coaches see him as coach-able and willing to make adjustments, then he and his .230 average will be well regarded over a .260 hitter with less projection to the organization. But I agree with Scotty that these rankings are duplicated at times.....even the wording.

Mike Trout wants to steal 40 bases this year
Dugout replied to Ace-Of-Diamonds's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
He hits too many doubles and HRs. But maybe he will draw some walks. -
Some of it is on Perfect Game still.

Bat Speed for Williams Right handed...108MPH Left handed.....105MPH I have read that he was asked to repeat his swing many times because they were not sure if those high readings were correct.

What do you guys want to read about in spring training?
Dugout replied to Jeff Fletcher's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
The youngsters on the backfields, the kids we were excited about last draft. Are they bigger, stronger? are they playing a new position? Its really hard getting info on these guys, and some video would really be nice. -
What athletic position player is up for trade? I like all of our top guys, especially the new prep players with high ceiling.

I would like to see someone interview Mike Gallego about all of our prospects. I heard he is in Tempe right now working with our first 3 picks from last years draft. I would really like to know what they are doing if anyone has some information.
