  1. I question this early in the season what people call success about Weaver. I also question how long can he keep throwing 84+ on his pitches. Yes he can get by with location at 84 but we have seen what happens when other teams sit waiting for his mistake pitches since they don't have to worry about him throwing the ball past them. I am a Weaver fan but question his durability for the rest of this year, and hope he can leave the game with his head up and not washed up.
  2. The bigger question is in 3-4 years if the Angels are still struggling will Trout still want to be an Angel? I think the next 2 years will tell. Trout wants to win championships, World Series and if the Angels don't bring in players to help him then he will walk to the best team he feels can win it all. So the plan should be to let Weaver/Wilson leave, talk Pujols into retirement, look to get the best pen, and then find a good lefty hitting left fielder. We might have a very good rotation with the current young pitchers so money should go to better offense and defense.
  3. Weaver is a baseball player, all players age and lose their stuff. He has been paid very well and played very well, but it is time to go younger and cheaper. The Angels need plan ahead and start using their money better. Pujols also was once great but those years are over, he is not worth $20+M a year and does not and will not play up to his pay ever again. He is a proud man but is he proud enough to say good bye before fans only remember him as he is now?
  4. At this rate will there be a bullpen available on Sunday when Weaver pitches?
  5. Of course managers and coaches are going to say the have really good guys at their level, but are they really good at the Major level, thats what counts!
  6. Not who but when will the Angels hit their first homerun of the season.
  7. Why are fans high on Skaggs? In the two years before coming back to the Angels he was in 5.+ ERA, then 4.+ ERA with the Angels. Now coming back from TJ surgery I can't really believe he can be better and help the Angels much this year.
  8. When was the last time Weaver threw back to back 86 MPH pitches?
  9. Weaver you were good for a long time. You changed arm angles because of pain not because of velocity now changing again might help with being pain free but once velocity is gone it is very hard to compete with 81 and below stuff. Go to the pen help when you can and enjoy your last year as an Angel!
