  1. No offense but I don't think you're old enough to remember that. They haven't been that kind of team in a VERY long time.
  2. Welcome back VegasMike! How are the casinos treating you?
  3. AO, the most predictable poster we have. Sorry AO but you are much more fun when they are losing.
  4. If you are asking how he has screwed up this season, that is pretty easy to answer. On Tuesday he screwed up by not having Burnett ready to go in case they pinch hit, which they did. Last night he screwed up by not having Lowe or Williams start the 6th. Then when Lowe got in trouble, he should have gone with Williams in my opinion. I think its laughable to say he hasn't made any good decisions since opening day. If the moves work they are good moves, if they don't then they were bad. He is using the same guys he used on opening day that pitched lights out against a good team that he is using now. The only difference is these guys aren't getting the outs. We have had threads here talking about how good Lowe looked in Cincy, well that didn't last long. That isn't on Scioscia. Jepsen had a 0 ERA going into Tuesday night, so I can understand leaving him in even though it didn't work. Someone said why not just leave Downs in to face Cespedes last night, I am sure if he would have allowed a game tying hit or a home run then that same someone would have blamed it on Scioscia. Its results that make you good or bad, and the same players that got him good results on opening day are giving him shit right now. Now as for last night I completely disagree with him bringing in De La Rosa (I think that is his name) in that situation. Once again if I am going to speculate he brought him in because he thought he had a better chance of striking someone out. I personally wouldn't have put him in in that situation.
  5. While I agree he shouldn't name sources, his sources may be in the exact same boat as Trevor Bell. They are more than likely minor leaguers who have not made it yet, and they could be putting the blame on Scioscia, just like Bell looks to be doing. It wouldn't surprise me at all if younger players that are not use to structure or discipline might have an issue with Scioscia, that doesn't mean he is wrong.
  6. Rodney was a complete joke in Detroit and in Anaheim. He found something in Tampa. I'm sure someone will say he found coaching, and I won't disagree. However Detroit has very good coaching and management and it was awful there.
  7. I kinda like that nick name for Mike. The big Catorce has a nice ring to it.
  8. He is absolutely part of the problem, but he is treated like the sole problem. A great manager might win you 3-5 games in a year. Scioscia even if he is not great in everyones eyes is not costing the Angels 3-5 games a year.
  9. I love the notion that if you don't agree with the haters then you are an apologist. It has gotten to the point where I don't even want to point out when Scioscia makes mistakes, mainly because I don't want to agree with the lowest form of fan, the one that has to blame the manager every time a player under performs, the one that feels wronged by bad decisions. It's baseball, one bad decision usually doesn't cost you a game, especially not a game where you left 13 runners on base and hit into two double plays. As far as the validity of this opinion, well it has more merit than any of us have, but considering the source its at least iffy. How many players have played for Scioscia the last 15 seasons? Which ones come out against him? Well, we have Jose Guillen, Mike Napoli, and Trevor Bell. I am sure there are more but of those three I give credence to Napoli, and that's about it. A handful of guys out of the 100 or so ex players, not bad. I am sure any of us who have managed people in the past would be more than happy having 95%+ satisfaction rating from our employees/team mates.
  10. Remember when we had a lights out bullpen, ten years ago.
  11. Remember when you could start a thread making fun of another six page bitch fest thread and it wouldn't get deleted by the mods. Pathetic.
  12. Chuck email me your address I'll get you a wall calendar.
  13. Ok, LAA, was it a strike? What is your professional opinion? Face it everybody the only reason we care about this is because it helps the Rangers. If this call went against the Rangers and the Rays had one, we would be laughing it off. I don't want electronic strike zone, I wouldn't mind expanded replays, but not to the extent of ruining the tradition or flow of a game.
  14. This isn't on Nathan, he was clearly staying away from the zone. This is on the umpire who simply blew the call.
  15. Who will be there tonight? I'll be there with my family. My boys have never missed an opening day. I'll be tailgating by the big A starting around 4. So who else will be there?
  16. As ridiculous as a Ranger fan spending all day on an Angel Fan website?
  17. It's funny how one game can make us feel so much better, but I'll tell you, I certainly do feel much better.
