    Schools are the ultimate tool for brainwashing. Think about how we are taught about previous US presidents compared to reality. The schools in this state were literally used to remove the region's preexisting culture from tribal students. The trick though is to under fund them enough that they are not self sufficient enough to avoid such manipulation. A teacher worrying about her mortgage isn't going to have the time or effort to implement changes.
