    Piggybacking on Minasian's Gambit thread, will you say all the prospects PM has given up will be worth it if...? A. we make a good run to the playoffs and fail B. only if we make the playoffs or C. it's already worth it thinking Ohtani may stay because of it and that the Angels haven't been to the playoffs for so long. I say C for me and anything else is gravy.

    I don't know anything about baseball management but is it possible that Perry discussed with Nevin that "all-in" idea? That is, did he ask Nevin what he thought of the makeup of his players. Are they gamers? I would hope he would get an honest answer from him and that would be the catalyst for his actions. They're winning more than losing and treading water despite the injuries. I think Perry felt obligated to do his part. No one's giving up, it seems.

    I definitely like Thursday's and Sunday's games. We seem to win Anderson's games more than not. Always hard for a sweep, but I like our chances on 3.

    We hoped for more against the Braves in Atlanta but we got a win. Let's concentrate on the Ms. This is a much more important series. Up front, I'm hoping for at least 3 of 4 at home.

    Say what you want about Anderson but he came through in yesterday's game and, more often than not, we seem to win his starts.

    Perry did what he had to do. Cabbage couldn't continue to start. I just wish we got a SS so Squid wouldn't start.

    From the start I'll say that I'm a huge Autry fan and am disillusioned by Moreno. However, we didn't win much under Autry and none of his teams had playoff streaks like Moreno's. Why was Autry so loved?

    I agree. And with all the injuries, we need him mightily. The team may have to rethink Cabbage. He doesn't look like he's getting it done and I don't know how much of a look they can afford to give him. We already have Squid playing daily. The team can't afford another non-bat in the lineup especially with their schedule.

    Any idea how long an injury like this will keep Ward out? Any idea on what surgery he'll need? It's a blessing the blow didn't impact his sight so it's just a case of healing, no matter how long it takes. I'm against that type of thing when it's an accident, but do you know if our guys retaliated for the hit by pitch?

    They were in the game. Giolito gave a good effort. Gausman pitched very well.
