  1. I ask nothing of the Angels except that they put a decent manager and coaching staff in the dugout, and a decent product on the field. Right now, the entire Angels organization deserves to be the butt of jokes.
  2. Squint... You invested a lot of $$ in ST. Your "stuff" from there was the best. You have the right idea. Go to ST and have a blast. All downhill from there. Sad....but it is what it is. The most fun we have had around here is your ST posts. Money well spent. I used to do the exact same thing when ST was in Palm Springs. Arizona is too far, and too spendy, for me.
  3. I have followed the Cubbies since I was a kid in the 60's. Spent part of every summer with an Aunt who lived in walking distance to Wrigley. Santo, Banks, Williams, Jenkins. Rekindled my affection for them in the 80's when every game was on WGN. Lost interest when Dumbsty Baker took the helm, knowing he would never lead them to a WS. Wrigley, with all it's crumbling concrete and other flaws, is still the coolest baseball shrine in America, IMO. Funny that Scioscia and Baker are so much alike in their style. Beginning to believe that the Cubs will see another WS before the Angels do.
  4. I don't think anyone here is "unglued" over a loss. People are upset about another season lost in April. In case you don't know ...with 2 games left in April...9-15 puts this team right there with... the Cubs. Don't worry be happy.
  5. No surprise to me that he is playing hard. PB is one of the only players on this team who is young enough and inexpensive enough... to be traded to a team that might win something soon. He is one of the few players in this org with any REAL incentive to play well.
  6. Silver linings.. I know they just lost 3 of 4 game to the Mariners, but a couple of them were close. A fly or two less in the ointment, and who knows? It's only April, lots of pages left to turn, and everyone knows Butchy is the hardest working coach in baseball. Jared gave us a hometown discount. Hamilton has God on his side. Pujols is still a little faster than Benjie Molina. Everyone knows that Oakland will never keep it going. Comeback wins are way overrated. Arte lowered beer prices once. Scioscia's contract is almost half over. Getting in and out of the Big A is as fast as it was in the early 70's. Great Halo's gear is now available at Big Lots.
  7. Referring to the resale restrictions? Gotcha
  8. Hope you didn't pay face for them, because nobody else is going to need to this year.
  9. They need YOUR support! Get out there and spend some money and time on them. Arte needs you, now more than ever.
  10. Grasping at flies, tryin to keep em out of the ointment.
  11. Butchy is workin hard. One of the hardest working coaches in the game, next to Hatchy. He will have the ball coming out of Delany's hand and popping that mitt, in no time. If he misses a few spots, well, you just have to turn the page, and try to get the flies out of the ointment.
  12. It is a matter of fundamentals..these guys are doing nothing right. Pitching is bad, hitting is bad, fielding is bad, base-running is bad. There is not one aspect of the game that these gutless wonders are doing well at. It is a train wreck cluster fuch that is hard to watch...and it is nothing new. It isn't like this team just fell apart, they have been bad for a few years. There is no fundamental baseball going on, sufficiently, to give anyone a break or an excuse. When it is that bad, the on field leadership MUST take the fall. It is a few years too late, but it must be done, and it will be done....the only question is how much longer.
  13. When every aspect of the game sucks, yes, you DO blame the manager and the coaching staff.
  14. You're wrong. You don't think that parking, beer and other concessions, and jerseys and hats... don't have any impact on the "bottom line"? Think people are lining up for those $200 Hamilton or Pujols jerseys at the team store?
  15. You people are too much. If a prospective manager was any good, he would be managing for someone else? If a prospective manager has been fired from another situation. he must be awful? So what are you people going to be happy with? The only option for you guys is finding a manager, who is managing right now, and having a great season?? Yeah, lets get one of those guys. What you are saying is that Scioscia is fine. Well, I disagree. With all due respect, of course. Unfreakinbelievable.
  16. If THIS high paid team "hovers around 500" the stadium will be empty. Heck, it is already showing large bald spots. The general public will not pay to see this crap. Season ticket holders already know that they are watching thousands down go down the toilet with each passing series.
  17. This same question is asked by the apologists over and over....who else would you want? There is nobody out there! I have been answering with Ryne Sandberg for 3 years now. These people ask the question, but they really DON'T want an answer... They just want to keep asking the question. They want to keep Scioscia. They want to make the same excuses for the poor play, and they REALLY don't want to hear an answer. I picture them running around with their ears covered, not really wanting to hear any answer to the question they are only pretending to ask. Scioscia sucks. It is high time for a whole lot of so called Angel fans to get a clue and figure it out.
  18. I am on the Ryno bandwagon I am with you on Ryno. Hell, if Sandberg's team was playing like this, he would fire himself.
  19. You're holding tix and getting ready to head to the ballpark in a while, so that is understandable. Can't get worse than last night....can it?
  20. I Like that idea, but animals come with loads of risk. Better to have video of one, than take the chance of it throwing feces, biting, or sportin wood.
  21. Homebrewer, on 26 Apr 2013 - 10:29, said: The Angels need a mascot. Maybe two mascots. They could be big flowers, named Buttercup and Pansy.
  22. "Something some fans here can't seem to do, shake off yesterdays game and prepare for the next with some level of optimism." Yesterday's GAME? Lets talk about shaking off last season, heck while we are at it, lets talk about trying to put the last 3 frikkin seasons in the past, and then talk about trying to find something to be optimistic about. Want some optimism? Scioscia is one day closer to getting canned. There, that's pretty optimistic.
