  1. i don't know a thing about sekera. not even sure what position he plays. hope he's decent and gels quickly with this team.

He's a great defenseman. Been watching him for a while. Not physical but moves the puck great and can skate. Can handle top pairing responsibility

  2. Anybody who has quit smoking (myself included) knows that it is difficult and you take it one day at a time. With the passage of time it becomes easier until at some point you are completely free of it. It's a mental game and you either win or you lose. Not a disease or some other excuse, it's all you.

t's true man. I've quit smoking as well, and have seen family members fight through  other forms of addiction.  It's on the person being weak minded when you see someone relapse. This guy knows he needs to stay clean more than anyone else in the world yet he's still not strong enough mentally to do it. I don't feel sorry for this guy very much at all. I feel sorry for his family and that we have to deal with his baggage another 3 years. This is worse than having Wells. At least Wells wasn't an endless distraction. This guy is just a total disaster

  3. I think all 3 guys vying for the 2B job are going to suck. Just my opinion.

But they have until July 31st to find someone adequate. Someone will be looking to sell a decent 2B at some point, and if we're in the thick of things like we should we could pick him up. Similar situation to the Giants picking up Scutaro in 2012

  4. I find it funny how you're not allowed to criticize Obama without a lib chiming in about Bush.

I never even brought up my opinion of GWB.

IMO Bush has very little to do with what is currently going on over there. I'm no expert and I definitely think Bush ****ed up, but how in the world would things be so drastically better in the Middle East if Bush was never president? That just seems fishy to me...

  5. Man I go back and forth on this every day. Today I think we do need to get involved at least a little over there. It's a scary thought if they keep expanding their domain with how close they are to Europe. I wish these assholes had some crazy dictators to keep them in line because they clearly have no chance at sorting shit out on their own without someone breathing down their necks at all times.

One things for sure, the next president has his hands full, and he better be a smarter man than the crackpot that's currently running this country

  6. this is Scioscia for me and it's not particularly close.

After that it goes CJ, Wells, Hamilton, and believe it or not, Steve Finley

I just remember Scioscia playing Finley so god damn much when it was painfully obvious he couldn't play anymore. I remember one time late in that year we had bases loaded no outs and Finley bounced into a 6-4-3 double play, yet I was stoked about it because we got a run. That is the sign of a terrible ballplayer

  7. slightly off topic here, but I'm curious what the future for Cron holds. I don't think he's very good, and I wonder if he'll be used as a trade chip at the deadline. With Joyce on the team and Hamilton making 30 million I just don't see a big role for him at all. That combined with the fact that Pujols will inevitably injure himself and have to play 60 games at DH.

I don't think Cron can handle 1st base very well and I don't think he'll be a good MLB hitter. I'd sell high on him

As for my lineup to start the year:

    Calhoun

    Trout

    Iannetta

    Pujols

    Joyce

    Freese

    Aybar

    Cron

    Green
