Wood has to show some improvement. He's got great stuff but he's at the point where he has to start getting some results at the minor league level. I mean, he's 24 and he was pretty wild in 2013...hurt all of last year.
Could be a breakout and move quickly to AAA, or he could flame out and never amount to anythinng

I have to think they'll bring in a veteran bullpen arm at some point before the trade deadline. Not too upset about this
-
Just curious, where does Baldoquin fit on our prospects list? Top 10? Top 5?
top 3
Heaney
Newcombe
Baldoquin
IMO
-
Pujols: .790 OPS
Hamilton: .690 OPS...horrible defense
2022 can't come soon enough
-
how is the offense much improved?
the offense is marginally improved, and the defense is much worse
Kemp had a good year last year with the bat...if he repeats he makes them much better
Meyers is a young power bat coming off a down year...think he can rebound
Norris is one of the best hitting catchers in baseball
-
-
As were Sam Gagner and then Taylor Hall. Rinse and repeat.
Rebuild 3.0- THIS TIME WE'RE SERIOUS.
McDavid is a much much better prospect than both of those guys. Best since Crosby
-
Both teams do good here. Padres get a great replacement for Grandal
-
Wow, A's are going to suck next year.
Padres improving
-
I seem to remember Petit's career being derailed by shoulder injuries...could be wrong
-
I think you do it even if you have to eat 50 million.
Unless you think he's going to be productive this year (which I don't.)
Eating 50 million still saves us 40+ million over 3 years. I would do that so fast
That's an extra 13 million per season that could go to a 2nd baseman, 3rd baseman, or starting pitcher.
-
Kind of a sad story. Had good upside and now appears done
-
Trade him while he still has any value
-
Cron and Green for a solid 2nd baseman would be amazing
-
Already replaced Kendrick's production...solid
-
They need position players now. Baldoquin should be a nice start. But the infield depth is still weak.
-
Hamilton 5 years 125 million
Pujols 10 years 240 million
CJ Wilson 5 years 77.5 million
Blanton 2 years 15 million
Dumping Santana who has been terrific
Trading Walden for Hanson
Not offering arbitration on numerous players
That was enough for a firing IMO.
Since then he has been killing it.
To me, Pujols is on Arte. Hamilton could be too, but we don't really know
Wilson, Blanton, Hanson are all definitely Dipoto's fault. I don't blame him for letting Ervin Walk
In his tenure, Arte Moreno has been a bigger problem. Last two years things are much better
-
I so hope these signings backfire on them
-
McDavid is a helluva hockey player. Edmonton's only hope
-
Zimmerman, Richards, Weaver, Shoemaker, Skaggs/Heaney/Santiago
I could see it. Price will be a Dodger probably. Greinke will opt out and go to the Yankees I bet. Cueto will sign with the Red Sox
Zimmerman or Fister next offseason would be great
-
Moncada to Giants imo
yep...good fit

Some people are concerned about Heaney's mechanics, but it's still weird to trade a prospect of that caliber for ****ing Dee Gordon and one year of Kendrick, especially when you have highly touted MIF prospects waiting in the wings.
Are you referring to the Dodgers or the Marlins there? Because the Dodgers really don't have an MLB ready highly touted MIF prospect. They have Seager who is awesome, but at least a year away (plays SS and 3B). They have Alex Guerrero who can't handle 2B defensively, and really isn't that great of a hitter either. Then they have Arrubereana who is an all glove short stop. They needed an upgrade at 2B. Kendrick was the best option for them.
Great trade for the Angels, but it also makes sense for the Dodgers even if it's an overpayment

Who said we're interested in Stanton?
-
I think I'm the only one who doesn't find him to be that douchey. He's not out driving 110 on the freeway like Puig is
Braves sign Jason Grilli

3 of those guys have shown absolutely nothing at the MLB level. Pestano I have high hope for, but he still has to actually return to form. Morin is great. Salas scares me. I like Rasmus, hope he can follow up last year
