  1. You never overpay for something someone did in the past especially in sports. It's nothing personal it's business. When people pay for things they do in the past you get contracts like Pujols and ARod at the end knowing full well at the end of that contract there is no way they could live up to it.
  2. Obviously by the looks of it. Eppler and Mike S don't think Valbuena is a mistake. That is the absolute sad part of it. If I was Arte I would look long and hard at the way this team is being managed by the GM and the manager.
  3. I like it. But this isn't the reason they are doing it. If they wanted to go the tanking route I would be all for it. Get the highest draft pick possible. But they aren't trying to do that. They are playing Valbuena because "reasons" and "trying" to win baseball games.
  4. Unwatchable with out Trout. They are barely watchable with Trout.
  5. Agree with all of these I would add one more thing to it being realignment. I wanna see the Dodgers Angels Padres Oakland and San Fran in one division. Like wise on the East Coast with the Mets and Philly and Yankees etc.
  6. I never asked why didn't Eppler trade any of our relievers. Just disappointing in the trade deadline that they only made 2 trades
  7. If I am not mistaken the August deadline you have to have a player pass through waivers. Which only means that players who have really high salaries are gonna pass. Or maybe I am wrong on that?
  8. I get it. Arte doesn't like to be sellers etc. But no ones at the games anyway right now. This team could have rebuilt the farm even more with some trades. And yet we still have Marte Valbuena still on the current roster.
  9. Anyone else feeling a little sick to their stomach that the Angels only traded Maldonado and Kinsler with all these over pays going on?
  10. That ends the Parker trade talks to the Dodgers I would assume.
  11. Come on Eppler 13 more minutes I believe in you.
  12. I'd send them back a bottle of tequila and some limes just to say thank you. Maybe chill the glasses with the block of ice and send it back.
  13. Shh I am trying for a reverse jinx. But now that I said that I will be right. gosh darn it.
  14. He did time because he was sentenced to jail. He did lots of community service etc because he wanted a job in the NFL again. I don't know him personally nor have I ever met him, so I will refrain from believing what he is genuinely sorry for or not. Hopefully he is.
  15. It looks like the Angels are done for the trade deadline now. A lot of teams getting better. Lots of action with only 28 minutes to go till the deadline.
  16. Agree. But a year and a half later no one mentions either of them. It's like our social conscience only remembers the last 5 minutes. Maybe a little longer. Mike Vick is prime example. How about Adrian Peterson and beating his child with a tree branch? We get this 150% huge flame on for someone and then 5 minutes later they are back to idolized sports heroes.
  17. Seriously I love this time of the year. Can't wait for this off-season as well.
  18. I guess they figure winning cures everything. Or similar to the Chapman deal is just deal with it for a short term because peoples memories are short lived on this kind of stuff. Or at least the majority of this stuff. No one ever mentions Chapman stuff. Reading his police report is incredibly disturbing. I for one don't want these people on my team I root for. I can't even root for a team where I have people kneeling for the flag. I know at the end of the day it's just fandom but this is bigger than that. I can't stand this shit, and the more we find out about our athletes the more people will come to realize what heroes these people are not.
  19. Completely. Or a higher upside positional player that we are in desperate need of. Maybe a 3rd baseman or middle infielder/starting pitching prospect. Kole was trash for 2 months went on DL and has turned it completely around. I only say trade Kole because I don't think his value will ever be higher than right now. And we have Adell in the wings maybe another year off but you could patch work a RF for one year before he gets here.
  20. They can't have traded much. The guy has a 680 OPS. I am curious what Calhoun could get right now?
  21. Yes for sure. I am saying the same thing. You don't sell just to sell but it seems teams are over paying and if you can sell what is of value right now. I would even trade off Calhoun right now as well with his turn around. Seeing as he only has at most 1 more year with the Angels after this one. Trade the assets that are in high demand and reap the rewards next year and the year after. Eppler seems to be quite good at finding pitching prospects. I definitely trust him in that aspect.
  22. We just got two minor league relievers with upside. You can handle losing a couple if teams are willing to overpay. This team is not making the playoffs this year unfortunately. Get overvalue for assets that aren't needed for next year and rebuild the farm with more and more assets. If the value of your house is $500k and people are willing to pay you $750k you sell your house.
