  1. Could we add Ms. Hynde (from the Pretenders) as well? We need some energy out there. I would tell Butcher he has to sit down there until things are corrected.
  2. Luck is involved, the key is to stay positive. The Patti Smith reference goes back to the second page of this string. Sorry if I'm way out there.
  3. Adding Patti Smith as she could fit the bullpen.
  4. I want instant gratification, that is real. Long term success is what the GM has to do.
  5. Organizational culture is hard to shift, I think Dipoto is fluid enough to do it, given time.
  6. We are on AW, so given our group bondage, the question is whether he is pushing us in the right direction. I miss Stoneman but we'll never get that back. I see balance and guts.
  7. Would you? I get putting someone in charge for the long-term. If you do it for the manager why not for the leader of the organization?
  8. Much as I hate to say this, size occasionally does count.
  9. Gosh, I wonder if any of the professionals thought Green could play 3rd. No. As much s I'd like to see the bat in the lineup, I don't think it's happening.
  10. Well done by by Mr. Brown, and by Matt. As I said on another string, would you rather have Shoe or Garza?
  11. I know I could not do it, and I think Aybar is good, but it's not hard to predict that Pujols will get a low and away pitch in a key situation, which he could drop down. Please tell me outright I shouldn't expect a MLB player to be complete.
  12. I'm expected to evolve, grow and produce in my job and life, I expect that from Albert and all players. They do this for a living for Christ's sake.
  13. My point was he could do this if his ego wasn't in the way, and it's not just him. Players are getting paid to win games. While Monkey had some good points, I' m sorry, if the shift is on it's not that tough to push a bunt past the pitcher if the player can control the bat. Guess I expect that for $25M a year. Guess I'm way outside the box, talking about egos and having outrageous expectations.
  14. Trying to make sure the insurance run scores?
  15. With one infielder on the right side?
  16. He's acting out already, should be quite a performance next year. If it was my choice, I'd trade him, or extend him, but I'm basically afraid of anything that isn't in a bikini and a few decades younger than me.
  17. I'd put Jepsen back out there to start the inning, at least. But the answer should be Smith in the ninth (but I'm betting on Frieri).
  18. Practice, life on life's terms, play to win? Situational hitting!
  19. Seriously, a Little Leaguer could smash the shift if they practiced bunting. All this shittt about the shift is about ego.
  20. Should Albert be practicing in the bunting cage? When it comes down to winning a game when (hopefully) the season, the playoffs, are on the line, would Pujols lay down a bunt?
  21. As I was watching Monday Night baseball, and the Goatee was was pitching, I was thinking Shoe has at least as good stuff as Garza. And better numbers. Who knows if it will last, but I'd think by now opponents have decent scouting reports and Shoemaker continues to get the job done. What would Garza have cost if he wasn't on vacation? $15M/year?
