  1. Heyman helping Boras out, I don't buy it. Angels will spend big on a LFer not a 1B/DH.
  2. I know right, he should say how much he doesn't like CJ Wilson then go and try and trade him. Now that would be very impressive. Oh and saying the best pitcher on your team isn't an ace To the press would be a lot smarter and make him very popular with the players.
  3. Why? So he can sign CJ Wilson or Joe Blanton again? How about when signed he Ryan Madson to fix the bullpen. The Angels made the playoffs 1 time under Dipoto, he's very over rated GM.
  4. Analytical or traditional? All MLB teams use both stats and scouts to evaluate players, but they also all lean a bit more one way than the other. Here's how we see all 30 teams lining up. Analytical Traditional AL East Yankees, Blue Jays, Rays Red Sox, Orioles AL Central Indians Tigers, White Sox, Twins, Royals AL West Astros, Angels, Mariners, Rangers, A's NL East Braves, Nationals, Mets, Marlins, Phillies NL Central Cardinals, Brewers, Cubs, Pirates Reds NL West Dodgers, Padres, Rockies Giants, Diamondbacks Also the teams and GM's he list as being traditional have been winning rings, so why go analytical. The Dodgers were a traditional team that went analytical and lost more games and got knocked out of playoffs sooner. Traditional seems to be working for KC and the Giants.
  5. "In the AL West, the Astros were always more analytical, but they’ve acknowledged scouting is still important. Billy Eppler, Cashman’s longtime assistant who is the new GM of the Angels, leans analytical, though he embraces scouting. Now the question is, can Eppler and manager Mike Scioscia co-exist? Scioscia may be the last of the old-fashioned managers who consider analytics taboo. Scioscia will eventually lose this battle." Yes uninformative, but does ask a good question, can Scioscia get along with a analytical GM?

  7. How do you know he's still the 3rd base coach? https://twitter.com/alden_gonzalez/status/661713191395717120 Clearly more changes are coming.
  8. He wasn't that great with D-Backs, bad hire. Now Bud Black might be available and we are stuck.
  9. "Neither Maddux nor his brother, Hall of Famer Greg Maddux, who had been a special assistant to general manager Jon Daniels, will return. Maddux had been the Rangers pitching coach since 2009 and overseen the six lowest team ERAs in the history of Globe Life Park in Arlington." http://beta.sportsdaydfw.com/texas-rangers/rangersheadlines/2015/10/29/rangers-part-ways-pitching-coach-mike-maddux-consultant-greg-maddux
  10. Baseball Tonight ‏@BBTN 18m 18 minutes ago Mike Maddux will not return as the Rangers pitching coach.
  11. Pujols has a no-trade and no one will claim him with that contract. Also a player can't be traded while on the DL so CJ isn't going anywhere.

  13. How is he working under different ownership? Arte was the owner when Stoneman signed Vlad and Colon and when Stoneman couldn't complete the trade for Miggy.
  14. No playoffs with the sign the year it goes away they make it back to playoffs. They go on a 5 game winning streak and lose the first day the sign is brought back. Burn the the sign, it's a proven loser!
  15. He will get more then two years and he's a head case like Hamilton. No thanks.
  16. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 34m 34 minutes ago #Angels likely to trade an infielder. Which one? Story:... http://t.co/s9ktUQSX6Y
  17. Baylor is suffering from multiple myeloma, a type of cancer that damages the patient's bones. He was diagnosed in 2003. In a June 2013 interview posted by the Arizona Diamondbacks, where he was a coach, he talked about drug treatments and his stem cell transplant. At the time, he told interviewers about his current bone health: http://www.examiner.com/article/don-baylor-s-broken-leg-not-unusual-with-multiple-myeloma
  18. I personally do NOT want Dave Hansen as the hitting coach, didn't he get fired from the Dodgers? I hope Baylor is Ok and able to stay on the hitting coach.
  19. Promoted to what? The main hitting coach. Misleading thread title to get views for self Twitter promotion. I could give a shit if i had one follower on twitter, also not sure how its misleading when that's what the a reporter is saying. When is the last time a team replaced their hitting coach when they had the best offense in baseball? I guess you did not read all of my post, so hear it is again. Susan Slusser ‏@susanslusser 2h2 hours ago @HBMike27 he has had some physical issues that might make a different coaching spot a possibility.
  20. Susan Slusser ‏@susanslusser 2h2 hours ago Again, w/ correct spelling, sources tell Chronicle that Dave Hansen a candidate for #Athletics hitting job if not promoted by #Angels. Expand Mike Becannon ‏@HBMike27 2h2 hours ago @susanslusser Why would the Angels promote him, has something happened to Don Baylor? Expand Susan Slusser ‏@susanslusser 2h2 hours ago @HBMike27 he has had some physical issues that might make a different coaching spot a possibility.
  21. Jeff Fletcher ‏@JeffFletcherOCR 4m #Angels Matt Shoemaker got out to 150 feet throwing. He said he felt the oblique but it's almost gone. Still encouraged.
