Cool looking hat.
I just went on Ebay and there are a few for sale. just in case, as a last resort. They are listed under Angels straw hat. Hope this helps.

Kind of like he wouldn't sign a known recovering drug addict?

When I think about trading Shoemaker the old saying comes to mind "Sometimes, the best move you can make is to make no move at all" - Unknown
I really think that Shoe has figured it out and we would regret getting rid of him.

Becomes a free agent at the end of this season. Given his off field antics, would you be willing to sign this player?
Personally, I have no problem with what a player does outside the lines. I don't need role models on my team, I just want my team to win.
I would be in favor in signing Chapman.

We're going to go 8-2 on this road trip.
Stay positive, it's going to be a fun year.

You got me beat. I was still in Philadelphia then and a fan of the Phillies, who lost 95 games that year and finished in last place.
But that was good practice for being an Angels fan later on.
Yup, that would be some good training.
It's been tough being an Angels fan. But i wouldn't trade it for anything.

None of them really have any trade value right now as is. Santiago might, Shoe does. What's the harm in running Chacin, Lincecum, and Weave out there a couple more weeks in case any of them do? Shoe turned it around and people think he's a big trade piece now after 8 starts. Chacin had a couple great starts and enough track record a team may bite and give us a low A arm of Eric Stamets-type prospect if he can have a good July.
Trop's not gonna vault us back into the race. And again, we can control his innings, watch his arm (which we'll need to rely on soon) and save some service time.
I said, STOP IT!!!
Heads are going to explode.

The reason he's in SLC is because this team is 20 games out of first with a month before the deadline and 5 veteran SPs.
Run Santiago, Chacin, Shoe, Weaver, and Lincecum out every single day until Aug. 1 and see if any of them draw some trade interest. Can't trade Chachin if we release him. Santiago won't increase his value significantly if he's demoted to the pen. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if the Dodgers or another contender offered to take Weaver at the deadline to give him one more chance at a ring and provide some innings in the back of a decimated rotation.
Zero reason to have Trop out there right now. Control his innings in the minors (he was just hurt) and save some service time.
Don't know why it's so hard for people to see why they're doing this. Don't we want them to trade these vet pitchers? This is a quiet way of saying we're going for a top draft pick while trying to build up some SP trade value.
Stop it!!
you're making too much sense.

You DO NOT get rid of Simmons. He's arguably the best defensive shortstop in the game. If other players were batting their career averages including himself, this wouldn't even be a discussion.

I am glad we didn't sign Cespedes .290/.362/.584/.946/18 HR/44 RBI. I was wanting him ever since the World Series. I mean he didn't cost a draft pick or anything.
Right there with you.
However, I wanted him on the Angels after he threw out Kendrick at home from the left field foul pole. He threw him out by 4 feet on the fly!!!

I believe there a HRD is Trouts future. Who was the last Angel I layer to participate in the Derby? Garret?
Pujols was in last years HRD.

I want to see Trout compete in a home run derby. However, I have always been afraid of the slump that seems to follow those who participate. Given our current situation in the standings. I feel that this season may be the best opportunity with the least possible impact.
Thoughts?

Come on everyone!!!
Remember in 1995 when the Angels had a 13 game lead going into September. We lost the division to the Mariners.
It's only June, we have plenty of time to get back into this. Don't give up yet, it's going to be an exciting season. We got this!!!

For the record...
This is not a thread to praise Dipoto, but a reminder that prospects do not always work out. Our entire fanbase should know this full well, but if you read the reactions in that Huston Street trade thread, you'd think we traded 4 Mike Trout's.
It still gets me bent thinking we didn't want to cough up Brandon Wood for Miguel Cabrera in addition to Kendrick, Santana and Mathis.
Could never understand why people are so infatuated with the personal life of a player. Yes, MCab had some domestic issues, that is why we have a legal system. I only care what the player does between the lines.

Am I the only one that gets a sick feeling in their stomach whenever I read/hear about GRich?
I can't get past the idea that his arm is going to completely fall from his body. I really wish he would have opted for the Tommy John surgery.
Wish him the best though.
