  1. Keeperofthehalo -------- 19HALO71 It was something like that. Not sure what board or the time frame. Wait!! What was the question? Go Halos!!!
  2. Hey Chuck, An earlier post in the Cespedes thread had the Mets giving Walker a QO, not sure he will be available. Go Halos!!!
  3. So are we looking at a top of the line up of: Escobar Maybin Trout Pujols Calhoun That's quite a bit of speed in the top 3. Go Halos!!!
  4. Not sure why, but I get the feeling that Cespedes' best days are in front of him. He reminds me a lot of Beltre (Begin racist comments). Everyone thought that Beltre was done after the Dodgers and he just continued to get better and now he's potentially looking at the HoF. Go Halos!!!
  5. I believe he will only be paid 7 million. Given how he did at the plate alone, he would be a steal at 7 million. The Angels can do anything with him afterwards. Go Halos!!!
  6. My 27 year old son often brings up one of our many Dad/Son only baseball trips. We've been to Old Yankee Stadium, Fenway, Tropicana Field, Safe Co Field, Dodger Stadium, Petco, The MetroDome. These memories will be the memories that he will have forever, when I am dead and gone. Hopefully, this will keep a part of me alive in his stories. Go Halos!!!
  7. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/11/mets-intend-to-make-qualifying-offer-to-neil-walker.html Looks like Walker may not be available. Go Halos!!!
  8. Pick up Escobar's option and let Weaver and Wilson go with no strings attached. Go Halos!!!
  9. Start with Cespedes, then figure out the rest. Go Halos!!!
  10. Also, being that our first round pick is protected this year. I would think that this may be an opportunistic time to get that FA with a QO attached and make that big splash. We would be getting more bang for the buck. Go Halos!!!
  11. Trade Carlos if he wins it, his value may get us a huge haul of pitching prospects. J/K Go Halos!!!
  12. I would hope, that IF the Angels were to get involved with Cespedes that they would incorporate some kind of opt out. They could offer him a big signing bonus and basically buy themselves a third year team opt out. This would protect the organization from having another Hamilton/VW type situation again. Not saying that I have the contract answers, but he is the type of player that could really have a positive impact on both sides of the ball. We may very well have the best defensive outfield in baseball and a pretty good offensive one as well. Go Halos!!!
  13. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/10/yoenis-cespedes-opt-out-mets-contract-rumors.html Thanks Homebrewer! Go Halos!!!
  14. Didn't Bartolo Colon win the AL Cy Young award in 05? I think that makes him the ace of the staff. Just sayin Go Halos!!!
  15. Adjust fire over. Airborne Mortars out!! High Angle Hell Go Halos!!!
  16. This is where I disagree. I don't believe that Cespedes should be compared to Pujols (11 years before the Angels) or Hamilton (6 years before the angels). As we speak, Cespedes has only played 4 full major league seasons. In Cuba their season is only 90 games long, that's 72 less games a season. So the mileage on Cespedes is limited. I think he maintains his current production for some time. Go Halos!!!
  17. I'm curious. If he opts out of a contract, do the Mets still have the ability of giving him a qualifying offer? If not, this may be an opportunity to acquire a couple of quality pieces without losing the protected draft pick. Go Halos!!!
  18. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/10/latest-on-mets-after-wild-card-loss-yo-walker-bruce-duda.html If he becomes available, how much and for how long would you offer? The guy mashes and has a 155mm Howitzer for an arm. I say "Yes". Current contract per Cots. Yoenis Cespedes lf 3 years/$75M (2016-18) 3 years/$75M (2016-18) re-signed by NY Mets as a free agent 1/26/16 $10M signing bonus 16:$17.5M, 17:$23.75M, 18:$23.75M Cespedes may opt out of contract after 2016 season full no-trade protection Go Halos!!!
  19. I thought it was all a negotiation process. They offer it, he declines it and they make a new offer. rinse, wash then repeat. That is how you find out what the individual wants and what the market will bare. Go Halos!!!
  20. Give him 1 year plus a team option on a second year. I would have no problem with him as a #5 starter. Or, have him as the 6th or 7th inning guy to come in following someone throwing 90+. He would be good for 3 outs with his 62 mile an hour change up. That would be a near 30 mile an hour speed change for 3 batters. Go Halos!!!
  21. Don't forget the Fatback and Hush Puppies. Oh and those damn Waffle House's. Go Halos!!!
  22. I would say, grab the HS pitcher and take control of how many innings they pitch. Kids nowadays play baseball year round and there is no telling how many innings they're throwing. Then you also have to worry about the travel ball coach who is more concerned with winning than the condition of the kids arm. By drafting the HS pitcher, you get them exposed to qualified professionals. Go Halos!!!
  23. The stubhub pick up location is just north of the stadium right across the train tracks. I've picked up there and it was quick and easy (if you can get great seats at a great price, go with stubhub). If not, buying tickets at the window is very convenient. Safe travels and enjoy the game. Go Halos!!!
  24. I've been a Cespedes fan since he threw out Kendrick at home, on the fly by 3 steps, from the left field foul pole. Oh, and he also rakes. I would really like to see him in left field for years to come. Go Halos!!!
