Looking at the bright side it could be nice having an elite pitch framer (arguable the best in the majors) helping out our young pitchers like Canning and Suarez who seem to really rattle when they don't get those borderline calls. Actually, it will be nice to have an elite pitch framer in general.

Have to disagree and just think positively with that one, Chuck. He's still a 21 year old rookie who jumped three minor league levels just last year. Like Canning he was baptized by fire and probably should have been given more time in the minors. I am willing to bet he becomes a nice backend rotation option who is cost-controllable which is exactly what we need.

Would have liked to see if Suarez could pitch out of that jam. Might as well see what we have.

I read somewhere in an interview that Gerrit Cole loves pitching to Max Stassi so maybe there's something there.
