  1. I never thought I'd be more impressed with his defense at third base than his bat so far.
  2. Looks like it. He mentioned in an interview earlier this week that the biggest difference between him last year and him this year is that he realizes how elite his bat speed is. So he can start his swing later and let the pitch deeper and still be successful. He no longer feels the need to cheat on his swings. It just shows that these numbers and the improvement he has seen from double-a this season(.355/.423/.602) compared to last season (.238/.324/.429) are no coincidence. He is getting smarter and better every single day.
  3. Not a shocker. Minor move with Lucroy and Kevan still hurt but I'm sure this thread will still end up being 5+ pages long.
  4. He mentioned in an interview that he has one more outing at Inland Empire (which was tonight) and then he will be called up to Salt Lake for a week then back to the Majors.
  5. 19 pitches, 14 strikes and his fastball topped out at 94 his last outing so a steady increase in velocity.
  6. I believe they abandoned Barria with an opener for some time now and don't plan to revisit it in the future.
  7. Was hoping this would happen. This makes me incredibly happy.
  8. I'm sure he's slowly getting there and ramping it up. He should be sitting at around 95-97 once he comes back (especially with the adrenaline of being back with the major league team) which is more than enough velo to be successful. What's most important is his command and so far so good on that front. In his first appearance he threw 7 pitches all for strikes with no walks. His second appearance today he throw 16 pitches with 11 being strikes and no walks again.
  9. Middleton tonight 1.0 IP 0 BB 0 H 2 SO 16 pitches - 11 strikes
