  1. If you want to see a real game with real fans, I suggest making the 5.5 hour drive to San Francisco and attend a Giants game if you have time. Out of the 21 ballparks I've been to, its prob one of the best as far as stadium, crowd participation (cheering, chanting, etc) and food (gotta love those fresh Gilroy garlic fries!)
  2. The called up Grubey because it sounds like Gubi and we all know how much that guy is loved
  3. For most people, slipping of a roof and breaking a femur, would be the most painfully break one could have. For me, it was the second
  4. Involved teams we can't stand the most! First was the final game of the 2012 season when Oakland game from 5 behind to beat the Rangers and take the devision. I was going to college in the bay area and decided to ditch class to go to, what turned out to be, the most intense baseball game I've ever witnessed in person. Second, was Josh Beckett's no hitter in Philly last weekend and or course involved 2 more teams Angel fans can't stand. I recently moved to the East Coast and it was the first game I attended since being here. Why, in all of my 25 years of going to Angel games, couldn't they provide a single dramatic game?
  5. The A's are obviously inspired to play well because of their awesome stadium and amazing surrounding city, duh. So much better than the I dump the failoes play in....
  6. You can't put a cast on a femur, I know from experience
  7. The worst is when they do it when the HOME team is batting. Bunch of f'n idiots!
  8. Im thinking they would actually get more right if there wasn't replay. Because of replay, they just say the first thing that pops in their mind without thinking first because they know it can be changed. Lazy umpiring IMO
  9. Is there a cliff note version for us lazy people?
  10. You can keep your hashtags as long as Weezer gets to keep their #pipe
  11. Some dudes are into destroying old ladies, just sayin'
  12. Fist off, I'm not saying this to be mean. I've noticed for a while that he has had a gimp and always seems to be favoring his left arm but tonight he looked really skinny and older than usual. Has anyone else noticed this or heard anything about him being ill or having health issues?
  13. I wouldn't call it luck and they certainly do not suck. They may "suck on paper" because they don't have big names but they get the job done when it needs to be done. They have the same amount team of HR's, team XBH, team AVG and total bases as the Angels but 16 MORE total runs. Not to mention a team era of .274. All stats proving they don't suck nor have good "luck"
  14. Id take a rally cat, dog, elephant, giraffe, rhino, monkey, hell even an Oprah if it meant no more build me up buttercup.
  15. I agree that there are things more important to spend money on and college funds are one of them. However, being a single guy with no kids, I see nothing wrong with spending a little money on things that I think are cool. Trust me, I'd much rather get free items but like you said, that usually impossible these days and the stuff that you can get for free are things like line up cards, if you're lucky, and maybe a BP ball every now and then. Things like used bats, gloves, helmets, jerseys, etc are a lot harder to get directly from a player and thus have to be bought MOST of the time. I like collecting things with meaning to me wether its from a player I am a fan of, classic stadium memorbelia, or a former player I respect. I don't care if it's one of a kind or not. That being said, I'm not going to spend 9 grand on a used Jeter bat from Steiner but spending a few hundred on a bat that was used by one of my all time favorite players, I see nothing wrong with. But, I see what you mean with every can be bought. I hate all these drink coasters with field dirt on them or frozen grass blades that can be planted in your yard that they charge an arm and a leg for.
  16. At least the brick doesn't take all the covers or leave the towel in the bathroom floor, unlike most of our wives. Heyooo
  17. Not sure what section to put this topic so I thought I'd stick it in here. I recently decided to start a new hobby: collecting game used and stadium used memorabilia. First up, original Wrigley Field brick. I also have a ticket from the 100th anniversary game and a game issued (not used) ball from the 100th game. Going to get/make a nice display case for all 3 items. Next up, a Big Daddy Vladdy game used bat with some nice ball marks and pine tar circa 2003-2004. Going to try to get an exact year as 04 was his mvp season, making it that much awesomer. Yes, that's a word. I've never been into autographs so I doubt I'll start collecting those. However, if I can get my game used stuff signed, that would be very cool but living on the east coast, I doubt I'll ever get vlads. Anyone else into collecting? If so, post up!
