  1. I would not be worried about Trout at all. I have been saying all along, last year was his rookie year. Great year. But do it again. I honestly do not believe he will. He is a solid ballplayer, probably around .280-.290 ish. Pujols is a big worry. He needs to go on the DL and rest the foot completely. That is the only way to clear it up. Hamilton is a worry, probably 6 or so on a scale of 10. Maybe even more. He is swinging at everything, just like September of last year.
  2. When you don't let the visiting team play an afternoon getaway game.
  3. AJ is the one guy that it is almost unanimous about. He is a jerk. But when he is on your team, you are glad to say he is your jerk. Ozzie Guillen once said about him, the difference between playing against him and having him on your team is, when he is on your team you hate him a little less. But I have not heard any comlaints from the Rangers.
  4. After seeing 42, it goes on my list. I really enjoyed Bang the Drum Slowly and Fear Strikes Out (both kinda old). 1. The Natural 2. Field of Dreams 3. 42 4. Sandlot 5. Bang the Drum Slowly 6. Bad News Bears 7. Fear Strikes Out 8. Major League 9. Bull Durham 10. A Leage of Their Own
  5. I rarely go to movies. It has been 3 years now. On Friday, I took my wife, my son and my 15 year old grandson to see it. Thoroughly enjoyable flick. I teased my grandson about not going to see it because I know how it ends. The black guy plays baseball. Glad we went. On Saturday morning, Ralph Branca was on XM radio. He said the movie is pretty spot on. He says just a few inconsistencies. There was a left handed pitcher portrayed as a righty and vice versa. The comment about we can all wear 42 was attributed to Pee Wee Reese, but actually it was said by a bench player. The scene about the shower was not quite spoken that way. Ralph said he told him "Let's go shower with the team". It was funnier in the movie. Got a good laugh from the audience.
  6. This is so sad. I do not stand during the game normally. But during rallies, if people in front of me stand, I either stand, or watch on the jumbotron. The only time I have a problem with standing is when there is absolutely nothing going on. Yesterday at the Rangers Ballpark, there were maybe 10,000 people there because of the cold weather. There are 3 people, including me, sitting in my section. Why does the kettle corn vendor decide to stop directly in front of me to block the plate. Of course I said something then. And he moved. No problem.
  7. How many more plate appearances a year? How often does the ninth position in the lineup make the last out of the game?
  8. It is the same number of games in your time zone. The number of games versus the west coast teams has not changed.
  9. I was at the game and did not see it. Josh says it did not happen and I believe him. I do have to say, Josh did one thing. His boos were louder and longer than the ones Aroid gets when he comes back into town.
  10. The silence for Josh thing was just the brainchild of someone trying to make money sellin t-shirts. It did not stand a chance because too many people felt like they did not want Josh to hear any cheers. The boos were not because he left Texas. Not because he went to the Angels. It was because of the comments he made about "not being a baseball town". It may be a true statement, but it was not the proper thing for him to say. And then a week after the comments he is on XM Radio talking about how great the Texas fans were. He was talking out of both sides of his mouth, just trying to get his name in the paper more. Arlington is a football town, but with the crappy Cowgrils, baseball is gaining and it is not slowly.
