  1. !(*@ G'dammit all to hell. I thought this article was real. I want to be like Mike. This Mike too. So I went and made 9 pancakes - with butter and syrup. Now you tell me it's fake? Great. Fabulous. And now I have the Diabeetus for nothing.
  2. I love this, at least in that it's FINALLY joining the other big boy sports. Might not be perfect but they can work on how replays happen, I'm just happy it's happening in some form. The Angels better !*@ make the playoffs next year to see this in action when it counts. Ok, they BETTER be above .500. Scioscia will challenge himself being thrown out of a game.
  3. Not even close. It's like the prayer many Laker fans had with the whole "woe is us, just wait until we're all healthy! why is no one ever injured on other teams and we've had 100% of all NBA injuries?!??//" The team then proceeded to play even worse once healthy. If I had to guess (and it's always debatable), I'd throw out: Yankees Dodgers Jays Marlins Athletics Though I should spend time looking through rosters as memory is fuzzy. Injuries happen to every single team - only those that are very poorly constructed can't deal with them.
  4. On a positive note, today is Arte's birthday and the team did give him a nice unlucky #13 loss below .500. Way to go team! (trying to figure out how to do the whole silver lining thing when there are none - still practicing)
  5. For those folks, it will never suffice. You can write off the first year with the whole "Move to the AL, away from family, getting used to the marine layer, PTSD from sitting on the 405" even though I don't buy it. Many make the transition just fine if not better. But let's give him the benefit. Ok. Then this year was crap but he was hurt...from day 1? Ok, benefit again. At this point he has to come back very strong or...man o man 7 more years of this still after.
  6. Albert's legacy will be somewhat defined by a lot of people (non-Angel board fans) based on what he does next year when healthy from an injury he's had many times in his career but now is worse with a tear. Before the accusations were made, some had questions marks as it is. Whether there was a smoking gun with Bonds or A-Rod, people had their minds made up one way or another. If Pujols has an incredible season next year, things will be fine. If you get another bowl floater, you can bet opinions will be formed - evidence or not. I don't like where my mind goes...
  7. Guess they said on the broadcast this team is the farthest behind .500 this late into season since the '99 Angels. Pre-season hype and signings foiled again. NFL and fantasy drafts can't distract me fast enough soon. Sad. I won't have to work hard to hear Doyers all day. Been hard tuning into sports talk lately.
  8. The amazing part is sometimes it's hard to walk back the chain to remind yourself how we went from arguably having the best staff in the AL if not MLB to this. Overnight. And if you think it's getting fixed soon...
  9. Annnnnnd so we give up playing big boy baseball? (Implying we ever played it) And on first pitch?
  10. Does it really matter? WHY THE FCK ARE WE BUNTING ON THE FIRST PITCH WITH BASES LOADED AFTER CC JUST WALKED 236 BATTERS IN A ROW? WHY GOD WHYYYYYYY?
  11. Who the hell said anyone is blaming the season on Trumbo. And no one hates Trumbo. He seems like a nice guy. Most people are just observing the facts and his lowered tradr value. It's really not a conspiracy. Now the Scioscia defeenders...
  12. Hey listen, it is what it is. We all wanted to trade him but didn't want to lose the largest source of offense on a team that was supposed to floweth over with offense like a pair of Sofia Vergara bosoms. But the facts do remain he's lost a good amount of worth. I'm honestly not sure what a team would give up to get his positives - quite appealing...almost outweighed by his negatives. Who's going to plug him in where and give up what? I can play trade p0rn but I really would be guessing at this point. I'm not really sure what he's worth now on the market...outside of a savy GM. His greatest plus side right now is club control.
  13. Except after losses. Source: I'm the best GM.
  14. Unfortunately, the Angels had a good opportunity to package him when he had his peak this season and _maybe_ find a GM dumb enough to get an A-tier player. Maybe. But they gambled (I assume) and understandably so. I guess. Now there is enough of a book on Trumbo we won't get anything that will help much (subtract some, add some, same place).
  15. It's ok, I came home JUST in time to watch that fabulous 9th inning tonight. And I was happy. The competitive side of me wants them to stick it to the Yankees. The pragmatic side of me knows that every loss is 0.00000000000000023% chance that Fatty is finally fired and a step in the right direction of turning this org around - and about a 1.2% chance we improve our draft slot. Ahhh, the simple goals of an Angels fan this decade... As a side note, I heard a SICK stat driving today on the M&M show. I've not verified it, but Kershaw - when given 4 runs or more - is 49 and 0. SICK.
  16. Who cares if it's part of recruiting. The Angels should build "Astro's Amazing Whatever-the-hell-he-wants-it-to-be" doggy theme park next to Disney if that is what it takes to get this team heading in the right direction. Please just remind me what it felt like last decade and not like the previous...every decade.
  17. If my team was playing like theirs, I'D DRESS UP AS HELLO KITTY G'DAMMIT AND SING THE HELLO KITTY NATIONAL ANTHEM ON LIVE TV (not even sure if they have one, if not I'd write one).
  18. This is a Golden Corral buffet Mike Scioscia buffet plate waiting for Trout. Please feast.
  19. These Indians sure do play...like the movie stereotype. If we only had a schedule of these series, we could have an awesome shot at .500 *dream*
  20. If there was a visual analogy or story to the Angels season so far... ...I just didn't know Dipoto like to call him Sammy instead of Scioscia. One thing is for sure, with both of them at the helm, the Angels car is broken. Hamilton = Triple Caution Pujols = Double Caution http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=50f_1376084898
  21. I love Cuban. He's the best type of owner when he's your owner. And I love that he challenges the blue blood of sports ownership...right or wrong.
  22. At first I saw ...carrying on with its machinations without regard to our lives, loves, hopes and dreams... and then I saw ...I look in his eyes and I see that same harried look of gutless cowardice... and finally ...have nothing to look forward to but a continuation of this spiraling black hole... and I was like "oh man I know the punchline, it's Scioscia!" You got me. I didn't see the light part coming.
  23. Why a bulldog of all dogs? The low to the ground body? A popular mascot-induced fantasy? If I had to throw a random breed out there, it has to be the Pomeranians. Yep.
  24. Ouchie! That didn't work out well. I wonder if it's the content or just that the station didn't want the cost of a lawsuit. In other words, would they have fired him otherwise.
