    im sure arte gave trout one of his infamously stupid "take it or leave it" deals and trout left it.

    it would be nice to keep stewart around in case ibanez flops or freese gets hurt. maybe stewart can regain the form that made him a highly touted prospect at one time. he's looked great the last several games afterall.

    i kinda agree with you but to be honest it felt like the angels lacked something the last 2 years. maybe it was chemistry, maybe they lacked leadership, anyways i think that it would be good to have a clubhouse guy for this team. the angels really played like individuals the last 2 years rather than a team. look at the a's - they have way less talent than the angels yet they consistently win because they play like a unit.

    it doesn't appear they value defense this year as well. shuck making the team, hamilton backing up trout, calhoun/ibanez playing out of position to backup up pujols, and then theres the catching duo who are considered poor defenders.

    and who do the angels plan on using as a pinch hitter? mcdonald, green, and shuck? lol im sure their singles power is going to strike fear in many a pitchers hearts. it would be nice if we actually had power off the bench, i say go for stewart over green.

    i think long makes the team anyways since the angels dont really have a backup cf. i guess they can put hamilton there if needed, but with his calf injury it wouldnt be very wise. shuck cant even play the corners proplerly so he's out of the question. it just makes so much sense for long to make the team, and even if someone claims shuck off waivers, who cares? his production and defense are easily replaceable.

    zack greinke made that "zero" comment really popular lol. id honestly take torrealba over conger. conger is like bobby wilson, absolutely no skills behind the plate in what is probably the most important position besides pitching. i thought his offense would make up for it, but he's been hitting like a pitcher so far.

    His fastball velocity is a little low but in that video his change up was around 76 mph or so. That's a 14 mph difference which is very good. its just going to come down to whether or not he mixes up his pitches properly to be effective. the trade is pretty good but i wish it was aybar instead.
