the reason i wouldnt bat trout 2nd is because he has 2 gidp specialists behind him. we saw it last year, trout gets on, pujols comes up and gidp what seemed like every single time. if by some miracle he didnt gidp, hamilton surely would. at least if he leads off he can make pitchers pay for walking him by stealing 2nd, and i have faith in calhoun to protect him if need be.

angels hired a former manager like baylor for hitting coach and disar a former minor league coach to be the new 3b coach for no other reason but to hold scioscia's hand and try and reel in his stupidity. the coaching staff surrounding scioscia were changed for a reason, nothing id expect some of you to understand.

how is he gonna steal if he hits 2nd and pujols fouls off every pitch when trout takes off? pujols said he doesnt like a lot of movement when he's hitting. why wouldnt u take advantage of trout's tremendous speed and put as much pressure as possible against the opposing team.

We pay pujols and hamilton to drive in runs and if he's hitting in front of pujols he's going to stay planted at first base and wont get as many steals and you're not taking advantage of his speed - making him one dimensional.

im hoping with disar becoming the 3rd base coach the baserunning will finally improve. it doesnt seem like scioscia knows how to fix it. great display of managerial ability there.

scioscia's philosophy is pitching first? i dont think that can be his philosophy since every manager in baseball wants pitching first. philosophy is something more peculiar. scioscia's teams are more known for wildly running around the bases with no perception of what or where they are going while looking like a bunch of goofballs who could care less if they get thrown out or not. then they return to the dugout to receive high 5's and pats on the back as if they did a good job. i think they went something like 25 straight games where they had at least 1 runner thrown out on the bases last year, it has gotten completely out of hand the last few years.
