  1. Charlie Morton out of the game in the 4th. Cy Young over.
  2. Ever since the starters have been getting to the seventh with regularity, I really feel like the bullpen has 'righted the ship', as it were. Without doing actual digging (too much effort), the only bad outing I remember in the last week or so was Anderson's inning in the 'Shohei' game.
  3. I dunno. It was hit hard and the LF'er charged hard and got the ball in quick. Baseball.
  4. Valbuena coming up - kinda gotta take the chance there.
  5. That whole new shopping area on the old Douglas site looks pretty neat.
  6. Thanks - another: http://www.baseballpress.com/lineups
  7. Hey, I was confused, too. With the LEAUGE capitalized, it seemed like that was the emphasis, and therefore the point, which was confusing. Not a spelling nazi, just genuinely confused.
  8. Scioscia getting another arm warm in case Alvarez falters. I've heard lots of complaints about how the bullpen wasn't ready and someone got left in so long, so I assume this would be widely acknowledged as a good thing. Fortunately Alvarez had a nice inning and Bedrosian wasn't needed.

  10. She always creeps me out, though; her mouth is easily twice as big as it should be. I was always afraid she would smile super big, just to see if it would meet in the back, and the top of her head would fall off. Speaking of anti-closers, with more teams dabbling with an 'opener' to get through the top of the lineup, I wonder how he would fare in the first?
  11. Not sure I would have classified last night as 'high profile'. 4-1 lead, sixth inning. I actually think this might be a good spot for Cam - limit him to 6th and 7th. Something seems to slip sideways in his brain when he's brought in to close.
  12. Poor Alex Reyes. Fights his way back from TJ surgery, misses 2017, and this year rehabs with a game in Lo-A, Hi-A, AA, & AAA where he went a combined 23 IP, giving up 7 hits, 7 BB's (for a WHIP of 0.61), 44K's (17SO/9), and no earned runs. Gets called up, pitches 4 innings for the Cards, and BAM - surgery to re-attach the tendon.
  13. Actually enjoyed last nights game. I watched for a solid 8 innings, turned it off with a 2-1 lead and didn't look back. When I finally checked the score, I could just laugh it off because I didn't actually have to live through it.
  14. So, my question; why would Briceno call for all those walks with two outs?
  15. Radio guy said the Angels bullpen was tied for the most walks allowed with, like, 97. Before these three.
  16. This off yesterdays 'effectively wild' podcast: "Kole Calhoun is the first player to have a sub-.200 triple slash (.145/.195/.179) before June since Tony Martinez in 1963. However, Martinez was sent down to the minors on May 25 of that year, only to return in September to bat...... .067". In addition, he had the 7th lowest OPS in May (going back to 1908), at .314 A definite 'oblique strain' candidate.
  17. Lost in the roster shuffles -- New report on Shoemaker. From Rotoworld: Matt Shoemaker (forearm) is expected to resume throwing in six weeks. Shoemaker had surgery Tuesday to repair a split tendon in his forearm. The injury wasn't appearing on MRIs and was only discovered after exploratory surgery. Shoemaker says the injury was a frustrating source of pain for him recently, and he's relieved to have a resolution. He'll begin a throwing program in six weeks and seems as though he would be eyeing a return at the start of the 2019 season, given how his year has gone to date
  18. Houston starting pitching is just ridiculous.
