  1. Yeah there isnt a gaping difference between the Angels, Mariners and Astros rotation I'd say. All pretty quality. Even the Rangers (but still below) are up there now. Poor Oakland.
  2. Anyone want a Chris Flexen or a Marco Gonzales? Anyone?
  3. I dunno. I watched a lot of Houston games this year and there were some large ass folks abundant.
  4. Yeah. To be fair you can find boatloads if idiots in every fanbase. Though I do believe Tom Brady should be done. Looks like he couldn't withstand a hard hit from the wind these days. I used to be more of a troll, but shit, I'm 40 now. Just no point in arguing with people on the internet.
  5. Man. Jo Adell and Jared Kelenic are sooooo eerily similar. Both have had basically the same careers. Super hyped prospects. Fallen on their faces. Both have been through bouts of removing all mentions of their current teams on their social medias. Still both super young and talented .... just can't seem to put it altogether yet.
  6. Most likely. We don't have a real DH either. So I'm sure they'll rotate through players. Dylan Moore will likely platoon at 2B with Wong ... Hummel might start in AAA.
  7. It's just frustration in Kelenic failing. I'd obviously absolutely love if he figures it out, but I'm not optimistic. Alot of Ms fans feel the way. But a lot also have hope for him. I do see him and Adell in the same light. Top prospects showing bright flashes but mostly dim bulbs.
  8. wRC+ of 198, 131, and 161 in his last 3 seasons against LHP. I am assuming that is all he will really see.
  9. I can't lie and say it hasn't been underwhelming, but Wong should be better than Frazier was by a good deal. Haniger provided not much for us due to injury so Teoscar will be an upgrade over what we got last season (we should have both Teoscar and resigned Mitch though). Full season of Castillo will be great, but not really an offseason move. Picked up some relievers that I'm guessing the pitching staff sees something in? Signed AJ Pollock today who seems to be able to still smash LHP, so platoon away (but with who? Kelenic. ugh.) Would have loved any of the big SS (Dansby least) but we were never gonna pay / they were never gonna come here. I can't say we got any worse, but the competition, namely Angels and Rangers got better.
  10. Projections are nice, but I seldom agree with them. Especially for non super star players ... they end up being all over the place. It gives a nice kinda baseline thought, but I take it with a grain of salt. Let the players play!
  11. Whichever franchise takes that chance will lose so many fans ....
  12. These contracts are just fucking insane. I was hoping the Mariners would nab one of the four this off-season but Jesus fucking Christ at the lengths of these contracts. Guess we'll just have to hope we draft one or trade for infield help....
  13. Now more than ever, there needs to be a salary cap in baseball ... or something. I don't know. Luxury tax doesn't do shit.
  14. I'm actually from Upstate NY and that's more depressing job wise / location wise than Connecticut. Moved here after college ... been 18 years now. I've actually only been to Seattle once in my life (I'm 40). The power of growing up in the 90s with Griffey ....
  15. Thank you good sir but I live in Connecticut! If you're ever on the east coast lemme know!
  16. Free agency is literally insane when someone like Brandon Nimmo almost gets 200m and fucking 8 years. Good lord. Shohei will easily clear 500m.
  17. I'm honestly not surprised at all by this. Every fucking sport is rigged in one way or another.
  18. Man. Contracts sure are getting stupid in both length and AAV.
  19. I think that's a ridiculously retarded move by the Rangers. He's 35 this year and hasn't pitched over 100 innings since 2019. He's definitely one of, if not, the best pitcher in baseball when healthy but thats a god damn big if. Gonna suck for anyone to face him in the AL West. I'm still more worried about the Angels than the Rangers.
  20. God dammit. Can the Astros just hurry up and get bad?
  21. And I am saying from actually watching him run around the bases in agony, he will not be an outfielder full time ever again.
  22. Same. But he'll never be healthy enough to play the outfield again. He also burnt a lot of bridges in Seattle this last time up when he bitched about being demoted to Triple A, while barely being able to play every other day, all the while hitting .143 on a looking to make the playoffs team.
  23. Astros are still the best team in the AL West until proven otherwise. And predicting these things before Spring Training even is kinda silly .... and its still a god damn crapshoot with injuries etc.
