  1. Not really the criteria I would use to evaluate a pitcher. Some get more run support than others. Also, oddly, he has pitched against a lot of very good pitchers from other teams for some reason (schedule, etc).
  2. Yep, LT, I was making a play on words; using the wrong homograph, just like the poster did. Sorry you didn't get it.
  3. I don't buy into the argument about post-Angels doing well, but you could certainly find ample evidence that many players left the team and INITIALLY began to perform. Many of them, however, fizzed out after a short while. Haren is not doing so hot; about what we had from him last year. Rodney is starting to come down to Earth. Kazmir? Really? It's been two years since any team wanted him. Santana is the lone exception and he is a head case, so not surprised he's having a good year; next year he'll suck again. Having said that, I can't defend the job JD has done; nor can I defend our staff. I don't know of another AVAILABLE pitching coach that could work miracles with our pitching. Do you?
  4. Kendrick, Trout, Trumbo, Ianetta, Frieri, Conger...they may not be perfect, but they are playing fairly well. Unfortunately, they are the minority. I'd put Williams in there after his last outing, but he's inconsistent.
  5. I don't know how much longer it will go on, but I do know that Frieri is the only positive I can see coming from JD's tenure, thus far. I guess Vargas has been just OK and Hansen has been a pleasant surprise....when he pitches.
  6. And how is it Butcher's fault that JD signed Blanton? Is Butcher supposed to turn that pile of steaming crap into a quality arm? It's the same broken record all the time and I'm not hearing a response to why Butcher is directly responsible for the guys JD brought to the team this season. I'm sure Butcher was jumping for joy when he heard about Blanton.
  7. We need to transition baseball to an NFL model: instant replay, free agency, and salary caps for the teams.
  8. I'll state it for you, if that makes you feel better. However, Haren pitched great for us the majority of his time here.
  9. I'm just OK with this. Problem is, we really need to sweep some of these teams if there's any chance of being in the playoffs. Just maintaining an attitude of winning each series may not be enough given the hole we've dug ourselves into.
  10. Yeah, his novelty has warn off. But how about Aybar try to stay healthy for two weeks at a time?
  11. Jerome did well, as well as CJ tonight. Both guys gave the offense a chance to win it. Can't help but think moving Hamilton down further would be a good thing.
  12. I love how Scioscia gets any blame for taking him out "early" according to some posters, since if he's left him in and blown the lead, people would be all over Scioscia for leaving him in there too long. Scioscia may be not perfect, but on this forum, he also can't win. This previous post was deleted by a Mod. I'd love to know why.
  13. OK, we'll just take our cues from you, next time, because you follow the story and we don't.
  14. Whether you have a legitimate issue with him or not, you never go public. Never go full retard.
  15. Why bother, we aren't making the playoffs. Sorry to be a kill joy.
  16. 3 saves in the last 3 games for Frieri. Absolutely.
  17. Chuck, are you wearing sunglasses at night?
  18. I recall him having a couple of clutch hits, but perhaps I'm mistaken.
