I've been on the Justin Turner signing for awhile now. Either Turner or Votto would be an excellent mentor for Schaunel.

IMO, most of the contenders are done with their heavy lifting. If Moustakas and Votto want another big league payday, it may be with teams that are defined as non contenders.

We don't sign anyone, and people complain. We sign someone, and people complain. One of the areas we needed help with was the bullpen. Now, with Estevez and Stephenson, the bullpen is a lot better. We now have a good young core of position players, a good group of young starters, and an improved bullpen. This team is better than some of you think.

No. If we can do that, we rotate the OF's, Schaunel, and Rendon through the DH spot.

Unless the plan is to draft a ML ready OF with our number 1 choice in the draft this summer.

Well, his training videos are available to view on you tube, and according to his numbers in Japan, his velocity hasn't fallen off, like it did with Jared Weaver, for example, or Bieber, for another. Also, I'm looking hard at the fact that we were a 73 win team last year, and the year before. We traded a lot of the available young players at the deadline in July, so I'm looking at ways to add talented players without subtracting any of the talented players that are still here. Bauer has a bulldog mentality, too. So his history says he has the ability to go deeper into games, which our current staff could certainly use.

Yes, IMO there is a zero percent chance that he underperforms. But, the current ownership is afraid of the backlash from the ticket buying public, so there is also a 0 percent chance that we sign him, even though he would improve the club.

No doubt in my mind that Bauer would help this team.

It doesn’t mean it’s good. One of the ways that the current roster improves is by reducing strikeouts, Trout included. Without Ohtani, the Angels will need everyone to improve, and adding strikeouts to the offense doesn’t do that.

20.8 percent of his AB’s in 2023. That is better than 1 in 5. He would eliminate the need for a 5th OF, assuming Marisnick makes the team as a 4th OF.

He can play a lot of positions, which is great, he can cover 3B when Rendon is injured again. But, he strikes out a lot.

Wheeler has earned his contract, to this point.

I'm happy that the Yankees signed Stroman. Now, everyone that wanted us to sign him can move on to someone else. Snell wants six years, meh. I'd rather sign Bauer and trade for Musgrove.

I hope we pass on Stroman. If we can trade for Musgrave, OK. Or, sign Snell, if the price and years are good. I would pay Bellinger, though. And I hope we sign Justin Turner.

I did some research. 94.4 mph on the fastball. Curve, cutter slider, change, knucklecurve. A good assortment of pitches to work with. I'd sign him. At worst, he's Shiggy. If he's better, then he's a lottery ticket.

It’s a massive overpay, IMO. His numbers dropped when he went to Seattle, likely they’ll drop a little more in LA. I’m also glad that they’re paying for all the K’s, and not the Angels.

If he can become even a backup catcher with a bat, then it’s a win.

Sign him, then trade 1 to fill another area, 3B, OF, DH, whatever.

Six is good on Bellinger. Being a Boras client, he’ll want eight. So, I hope we’d go 7.

I’ll take the over, on everyone except Rengifo, I think that his power numbers are a bit high. I also think that the games played numbers, specifically for the OF’ers are a bit low. This team is overdue for some good health.
