  1. They would probably be better off with no manager at all.
  2. Those came from Scioscia's media rolodex. We'll hear those same responses again in about 50 games.
  3. The whole team is this way.
  4. I think it's odd the Angels allow alcohol in the clubhouse after what happened to Adenhart.
  5. I wonder if defending Scioscia is a clause in his contract?
  6. The "one game at a time" mentality is fantasy at best. There's no way for players (or fans) to compartmentalize the atrocious start to the 2013 season, and then start a new day pretending none of that happened. Winning feels good so the opposite would have to feel bad, and it does. I don't think it's helpful to whitewash their failures because you're deceiving yourself if you do. As awful as this is, the Angels won't be this bad forever. They might turn things around next week, next month, or it might take five years. Who knows.
  7. What does 2 earned runs and 5 unearned runs say about CJ's situational pitching skill?
  8. The way MLB tallies unearned runs needs to be changed. CJ gave up 7 runs, but only 2 were earned, which is pathetic on CJ's part -- he needs to be able to pitch under pressure when his teammates fail to do their part. All three runs from Carter's HR came from base hits allowed by CJ. Paredes reached on a double. Altuve reached on a single. Then Carter hit the homerun. Just because errors were committed earlier in the inning should not prevent CJ from being charged for those runs.
  9. I'm not disputing that but most of his power is against RHP. As for his K's, if he continues on the same pace he will easily break the single season record for most K's by a hitter. This guy is on pace to strike out 250 times. The record is 223. CJ Wilson should have been able to mow this guy down.
  10. You people are letting CJ off the hook too easily. He gave up a double, single, and a homerun following Conger's errors in the 3rd. These are the Houston Astros for crying out loud. The guy who hit the big homerun, Chris Carter, had 51 strikeouts in 111 AB's going into this game and was hitting .207.
  11. At least half the stuff posted to this website is complete conjecture. I can't prove it and you can't disprove it, so we're equal.
  12. "which in all of our cases regarding this is nothing." What does that mean?
  13. I recommend learning how to read. I didn't say that was fact, I said "for all we know..."
  14. This is like a kid telling his parents he gave 100% effort despite straight F's on his report card.
  15. Was that before or after he cashed a multi-million dollar check at the bank?
  16. Some of the most well nitpicked catchers in the game.
  17. Conger didn't used to be this bad defensively. Being a catcher and playing for Mike Scioscia has to be torture as he nitpicks everything you do. Napoli made comments to that effect after he left the Angels. For all we know Scioscia might have been "working with" Conger and whatever he said or did wasn't helpful.
  18. Moreno has said many times he's "not a baseball person" so the Angels are probably just another investment for him. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't follow the team everyday or even know their W/L record right now.
  19. I don't remember him being this bad when he first came up. Was he this bad and I've forgotten?
  20. I don't think Conger is this bad. Unfortunately, no catcher is good enough for the Fat Man unless his name is Jeff Mathis. It has to be torture being a catcher in the Angels organization with MS there nitpicking everything they do.
  21. Moreno should have all the locks changed in Anaheim without telling anyone. A subtle surprise when they come home.
  22. Scioscia is becoming more and more like a cybernetic organism. No emotion whatsoever and everything he says or does is limited to what is preprogrammed into his brain.
  23. We need an 8-lane highway for jokes of that nature.
  24. He won't quit because he doesn't understand the team's struggles very well. He's looking everywhere but in the mirror to fix the team. So not only is Mike lying to himself, he believes his own lies. Self-deception is tragic.
