  1. Ohtani, Cobb, Suarez, Sandoval, Barria, Detmers as starting rotation would be ok if they had a lights out bullpen and good offense. They could use one more veteran dependable starter but I don't think there is enough money to sign one.
  2. I wouldn't be mad if they pulled Barria here. 6 innings and 2 ER is a great start.
  3. Walsh is now 5 for 35 since all star break with 0 walks and 1 xbh which was a double.
  4. Angels should keep our current rotation minus Heaney for next year. Spend all our off season money to resign Cobb and fix our bullpen.
  5. They should use some of the money they saved by firing all the scouts on their minor league players.
  6. It might make sense to platoon him against lefties going forward until he can show that he can hit lefties. .165 .192 .364 .556 against righties he is .327 .393 .619 1.012
  7. The biggest disappointment by far has been Mayers. Everyone expected much more out of him but last year's breakout appears to be a fluke. Then you have rest of shit like Sleggers, Cichek, Claudio and Guerra.
  8. He also got a favorable strike call on the second pitch so it's even. Well there goes the homer.
  9. Rengifo literally cannot make any good contact. It's either strikeout, weak popup or a weak grounder.
  10. Starting pitching has actually been a strength ever since Quintana and Bundy was removed from the rotation. I bet when you remove those two the team starter ERA looks decent.
  11. Rengifo even when he gets an occasional base hits are weak hit grounders that barely get through. He is hitting 5 for 41 in his last 16 games played with 0 xbh.
  12. That strategy only works if you have number of quality arms in the minors to bring up and try in the pen. We have bunch of soft tossing veterans and nothing in the upper majors except for CRod who was the most successful but not very well used by Maddon.
  13. Season is over might as well bring up Adell, Detmers and Barria and see what they can do in the major league.
  14. Walsh is definitely coming back to earth. His numbers are down every month and he is hitting less than .700 ops for july now. He is going to have to make adjustments or Maddon will need to rest him against lefties.
  15. Who cares about the single game? Ohtani has given up 35 walks in 12 starts with Suzuki as his catcher. And you can't hide the fact the Suzuki ranks always towards the bottom in every defensive metric as a catcher.
  16. He's honestly been the most consistent starter this year. Not only that but his peripherals show that he has been even better than his ERA. Extend him and as long as Sandoval and Suarez keeps pitching well the starting rotation should be set for this year and next between Ohtani, Cobb, Sandoval, Suarez, Heaney, and Barria/CRod. And then Detmers taking Heaney's spot next year.
  17. I don't understand it. Last game Ohtani went 7 inning with 0 walks pitching to Stassi but Maddon chooses one of the worst pitcher framer in the league?
  18. You regret losing Jahmai Jones who have underperformed for several years now and couln't move past AA in our system?
