  1. I don't care what anyone says, golf is better when Tiger is on the prowl
  2. That's been my argument all along gotbeer. People think teams will trade a king's ransom for him before the deadline. Fact is, they just won't. As far as compensation, I don't believe it's like baseball.
  3. The thing is, I think Corey will test the waters first to see what he can get elsewhere. I don't see him re-signing before the season is over.
  4. This action I would support fully. No reason for Hiller with Fasth and Gibson on the team.
  5. Very happy about this. Of the two, I wanted to keep Getzy... he is much more versatile than Perry. With Palmieri and possibly a short term veteran replacement for Perry next season, the Ducks shouldn't lose a beat going forward without Perry. Now let's go win a Cup!!!
  6. I would prefer Kendrick in the 2 spot simply because he is the only player that will keep the same approach in each at bat consistently throughout the season. By that I mean, if he gets fastball after fastball, he won't get pull happy and try to yank them all out of the yard. He will hit them out just by squaring the baseball which is what he does in each approach. I have a fear of Aybar getting pull happy once he pulls a couple down the line and over the wall. That said, I know Kendrick has a poor history batting in the 2 spot. But he wasn't terrible there last season. I know it was only 88ab's but they were during a time that Pujols was abysmal. I think Kendrick has a chance to succeed there. I think it's worth another shot.
  7. I dig this video. These guys are hilarious. "I like olives in my Rory Sabbatini"
  8. Missing my point YOT. I didn't need WAR to tell me the Wells deal was lopsided. I also don't need WAR to tell me that Rice and Morris are borderline HOFers. No one thought Matthews was a good signing. Again, WAR was not needed to confirm anyone's evaluation of that.
  9. Before the WAR stat came to fruition, were what we used to evaluate players wrong? Are there guys in the Hall of Fame that don't belong because we overvalued them using stats like HR's, RBI's, BA, OBP, etc? Have we not been able to accurately determine how good a player was just by watching them play with our own eyes? WAR is fun. It's about as useful as the old GWRBI stat. Both have their flaws. That is just my opinion.
  10. Can't wait to see them play the Wild on Tuesday at the Xcel Energy Center!
  11. Lesson from this instance: If you want to punch someone during a game, punch them in the gnads. You won't get suspended.
  12. He got just a fine. No suspension
  13. Ibaka hit Blake right in the UVO
  14. That value could come at the expense of a Stanley Cup Championship
  15. Anyone still looking to dump Perry? The top line with him and Palmieri is on fire!! I wouldn't suggest disrupting that at this point.
  16. Aside from the lack of Ace "stuff" CJ walks far too many batters to ever be considered an Ace. Wilson is a very solid #2 pitcher with the ability to have Ace-type outings.
  17. Primitive 1 point (Howard 3TO) tennischmp 1 point (Kobe 2 Stl)
  18. Primitive 1pt (Howard 13R) Soto 3pts (Kobe 7A 5to)
