    If he had a $110M deal on the table from some team he would have taken it already. That team wouldn't leave it on the table that long either I wouldn't think. Therefore, I think he has nothing. Giants signed Vogelsong, Marlins backed out of discussions with him, his options are finding other targets. I'd be shocked if someone gave him more than $85M

    I get that no one wants to stand in front of a puck, but there are no slap shots. I can't imagine a puck across the crease would hurt if a defender laid down to take away the passing lane. If they are worried about taking one off the chin, wear a cage mask. That was unwatchable.

    I disagree. If you only need to get through one team in your conference, you don't need to do a great coaching job as much as you just need the right players to match up well against that one team. If Byron had taken multiple teams to the finals I could see your argument. But a one hit wonder doesn't make you a good coach, or, in this case, give you clout over a current player who is now your leading scorer.

    Anyone think Shields would settle for a 1 year deal for a west coast team? I think the longer he isn't signed, the more likely that scenario happens. And if it does, would you sign him? Say, 1/12M? I know the Angels would lose a pick for that short term deal, but could they gain it back by making qualifying offer after 2015?

    I'm curious Nate. What did Magic say to make you think he was so humble. Because he was only humble in front of the cameras. He was never humble in the locker room or in the huddle during time outs. He bitched out many players on the court in front of everyone. Maybe you aren't old enough to remember that. Or it's just selective thinking.

    I like how fans of the name Anaheim Angels think the name was changed to Anaheim from California Angels because of the name of the city. Ummmm... no. If Disneyland was in Brea, they would have changed it to the Brea Angels. It had less to do with the actual city and its citizens and more to do with Disneyland.
