  1. Braves Strider, Indians Bieber, Yanks Loaisiga, Marlins Perez... All are having Tommy John, that's a good rotation there!
  2. The importance in this case. Isn't the first one, it's the ones along the way until... The last one..
  3. Because some hitters don't chase out of the strikezone. And pitchers don't always have to over throw their breaking ball to get a chase swinging strike. Most hitters won't swing at a 55 ft curve or slider in the dirt. But, they will chase an elevated fastball up and out at the hands.
  4. Interesting read.... True regarding salaries. However, salaries escalated after Arte purchased the team considering the high priced homegrown talent that we had on the WS team. Homegrown, rookies, and some vets added via Free Agency and trades sprinkled with the Waiver Wire... at the time I think our payroll was pretty high? We traded Mo for Appier... What would Mo Vaughn command in this market with those stats if he was walking into Free Agency today? It works for what ifs... But, it's a different market and time! So, overall I think the salaries are a wash. Same could be said of concessions. CoG's are different. Parking has changed due to inflation and the surrounding private parking has kept it down I believe. When I was a kid we rode our bikes.... and locked them up by the stadium! It's all different, but relevant.
  5. Some of the answers will come from Players who have been DFA'ed.... and are on other teams. Rule #1 keep your home games to yourself and keep a lid on them! It follows along the Bubba Harkins deal, the Skaggs drug death, team gambling.... Absentee ownership or turning the other way. Currently, there is a large LA County Department investigating who's leader is voted in and not hired.. They will, if not already will be working with the one in OC at some point.
  6. Great episode @Chuck @Spirit and Victor !!! Victor beat me to the punch.... Foreigner 4 and Van Halen 2... I agree with Victor also early expectations should be tempered with optimism! They added a huge amount to the pen as long as they don't burn them out early! The Rotation must be consistent! The offense is going to have to manufacture runs across a 162 game season. I consider Anderson a good starter in the Geoff Zahn makeup. He has to get ahead, use his change effectively and get ground balls while pitching to contact. Sandavol, Detmers, Canning must be consistent. Sandavol it's all about consistency and mental toughness! While not over throwing and getting out of his mechanics. We've previously discussed during the season every team will go approximately .500% in 100 games 50/50.... It's what you do in the other 62 games that matter!

  8. That was only due to being NO DH in the NL.. MLB changed the rules so in the end their world wide marketable Generational player could finish his career in LA with the Doggs. Otani (see what I did there) has said in many interviews that he always wanted to be a Dodger. The Angel fan base was the only part of the equation that didnt get anything financially out of it! Arte, Otani, MLB, and now the Doggs.
  9. I got some news visiting Easter dinner.... We should be happy we're no longer involved...
  10. Zuniga is missing his spots by 12 inches! Down he's way down. Up he's middle.
  11. His speed gap to gap played his arm up. When you can get to the ball quickly and get a good throw off to hold runners, limit the extra base. It works..
  12. Weave also demanded respect (he was also the War Horse at LBST), took the ball, and flat out shoved even if he didn't have his best stuff. He still went after hitters even at the end he had adjusted to pitching to contact. To me a True Ace is, the one that will walk out and force the opposition to take notice. They have the inner fire, they reak of confidence in their ability, their defense and team. They grind it out when not at their best. They battle to stay in for 1 more pitch. They don't walk off the mound after being pulled like a broken puppy. Their fired up and pissed off that they came out. Frustrated more at themselves for not doing more. They exude confidence! The whole we'll get them tomorrow. Only works if you build off of the bad start and don't have the same result as what happened 2 or 3 starts down the schedule. It's working through mistakes and fixing them, being consistent. Every other start isn't consistency in anything but being inconsistent! Most of the times when you have one Horse the others attempt to match/keep pace with them. Then suddenly you have 2,3 4 guys battling every start. Example look at what Anderson did with the Doggs... Look what we thought he would bring here? He wasn't the guy, he fed off the guy Kershaw! Except on bad teams in Colorado. It's a complete mindset!
  13. Mid tier is fine! Back end skus...
  14. I agree, if this doesn't happen Wash should execute the rotation!
  15. Mediocrity is in the eye of the beowner.
  16. Anthony is back in the White House as a consultant.... He was cruising in the night of the State of the Union...
  17. I would sign Bauer & Clevinger both just so I wouldn't be tempted to rush Caden Dana or anyone else... Then deal them at the deadline if need be! Or, release Bauer if he becomes an issue. The rotation currently constructed outside of Silseth & maybe Detmers is going to toast that 30M investment in the pen!
