Garza would be a good consolation prize to not getting Price but I am still under the impression that they want to stay away from big money FA. We will see.

No problem with the laughs and the doubts. Yes, the source got the teams wrong but assured me it was going to be a 3 team trade. Maybe at one point it did involve the Mets and Rays and switched to the Sox and Dbacks. I don't know that for sure. The source knew nothing about the Bourjos deal though and from what the source heard the Angels loved having his speed and glove in the OF. As far as the D'Backs wanting Price, the Angels want a "big name" and can pay him more than Arizona. That of course doesn't mean the Rays will turn down a better package. Overall, the source says the Angels are not done and want a "big name." Big splash was never uttered haha. BTW, to those making fun of me, (which I knew would happen), did ANYONE at all post about a 3 team trade other than me? ANYONE???????????????????

For what it's worth, I did post that it would possibly be a 3 team trade, I just had the teams wrong. I got this from a source. Yeah, I know, you won't believe me and that's why I didn't bring it up but the source did have the 3 team part right. I am not going to draw attention to myself or make a thread but this source has also told me that Arte is not going to be outdone by Texas and Seattle. He wants a big name too and that name is Price. Source says to not get comfortable with Skaggs. He might be included in a trade for Price. This source has also told me some other things but this was the major one. The source also told me that both young SP we just got might be included in the deal. I will post here again if I get any new info so take this for what it is. I am only bringing it up because A LOT of posters here think they know a lot and the Trumbo trade proved that most here have no idea what they are talking about. I told you that Trumbo would get us value and a lot laughed it off claiming that Trumbo had little value. My source assured me that Trumbo would net us some good young talent. I am in no way going to get my source in trouble or "cut out of the loop" as my source put it. I have no problem if you disregard this post but Fielder going to Texas and Cano to the M's has left a bad taste in Arte's mouth and he wants a big name too. Again, believe me or not but that's what I'm hearing. I'd also like to add that the Angels are prepared to make a "significant offer" to extend Price if they can in fact trade for him. No timetable was given to me though on when that extension would occur.

If Trumbo can only get us Cahill and Skaggs, so be it but I am hoping Dipoto at least tried to get Price from the Rays by offering the Mets Aybar, Trumbo and whomever else that convinced the Mets to send the Rays the players they want for Price.

If Dipoto has 12 teams after Trumbo, it means he is valuable. You get the best deal you can. I still am hoping he is at least flirting with a 3 team deal that gets Price.

Does anyone think that this might be a 3 team trade with the Rays and Mets? The Mets want a SS and a power hitter right? The Rays might want young players which the Mets have and the Angels want Price. Seems like a win win win IMO.

If a team thinks it's just a power hitter away from seriously contending, they will overpay for Trumbo. It's what Jerry did for some reason when he traded away Segura and whomever else to get Greinke. You overpay for that guy you believe will push you over the top. I think Jerry can get a #3 starter for him. We will see what his value is after the trade is done. I am fine with a trade that makes sense for both clubs but it seems many here want to "win" any trade that involves their own. I never understood that even in fantasy baseball. Oh well.

Good value is subjective.

This is why I wanted every Angel not named Trout or Weaver traded at the deadline this year. They would have gotten young talent and could have then afforded to lose their draft picks and singed the top FA in the offseason. Because they didn't do that, they are in this position. It was very clear that they were not making the playoffs so Kendrick, Aybar, Trumbo etc should have been traded.

If the rules stand, Tanaka gets to pick the team he wants to go to so it would be out of the Angels hands. You can't trade any Angels player remember? A lot here want Kendrick and Trumbo to stay. Many here expect the impossible out of Dipoto.

A lot of reports are stating that teams want a an extension negotiating window with him in any trade. So likely, if the Angels did in fact pull of a trade for him, Dipoto would either sign him to an extension or the deal is off.

I've seen you post this a few times now. What do you what Jerry to do exactly? What would you be happy with? Many here don't want him to sign a premium SP like Ubaldo because he would have to give up a first round draft pick. Many here don't want him trading any of our players. How he is supposed to get 2 good SP if he can't trade or sign them? How in the hell does he manage to improve the team without either of these?????????

Link? I find it hilarious that people here seem to know what the Rays are looking for. Has their GM stated that? Has Maddon said he only wants young talent? Have the Rays publicly stated they don't want Trumbo or Kendrick or any of our prospects? Yeah, I didn't think so. Let's what for some actual FACTS before we start freaking out that no team wants our players. NO ONE here has any idea what Tampa Bay is looking for.
