  1. When he can induce groundballs with 2 of every 3 balls put in play (3/4 when he’s really on), that high walk rate doesn’t hurt much at all Master GIDP
  2. I’ll meet you in the middle let’s sign Andrus & Chafin
  3. On most days the 6/7 spots will be occupied by two of Drury/Walsh/Urshela. There’s nothing wrong with that. Last two spots C & SS - Rengifo is terrific vs LHP, Fletcher can be as well. Will concede it’s a weakness vs RHP. Catcher is a wild card - O’Hoppe projects to be fantastic, Stassi has been good before his terrible 2022. This over the top negativity feels like willful ignorance
  4. Huh? If he could have the Halos guarantee him $50M+ over 8-12 years right now, it would eliminate the risk of a second TJS (or any major arm injury) hurting his FA market. Also, he could see value in ending all of the “where would he sign” controversy. Those are two obvious reasons to consider extending this offseason imo
  5. Would be great to see Tyler Anderson’s strike throwing rub off on Sandoval
  6. If this scenario transpires it’s possible, if not likely, that one of Neto/Soto/Jackson/Paris becomes clearly MLB ready by the deadline, which would enable trading either Rengifo (who could also improve his value with continued improvement) or Urshela to improve elsewhere. Also, if the pitching staff remains relatively healthy, we have a lot of talent in AA/AAA that could be moved to improve the club. Being on track for 85 wins by July would be awesome imo
  7. Considering the humility Shohei exudes I agree that he would likely prefer to avoid being center of attention at camp (more so during WBC) due to his contract status. He already gets plenty of attention for being the unicorn out there
  8. It says she’s in charge of planning & budgeting. Seems highly influential
  9. If he continues giving Perry the resources to construct competitive teams at the AAA & AA levels, while making the playoffs in 2023 & getting Shohei to extend, I’d be fine with him remaining as owner.
  10. This is a fun / alternative way to look at prospects, purely driven by 2022 results. Paints our guys in a much better light than the traditional rankings that lean more on scouting evaluations. That said, it looks like Quero outranked O’Hoppe due to his larger relative age gap, and a much better BABIP? (Not sure if all contributing stats are equally weighted.. if so seems strange to include BABIP). Also, neither is getting (extra) credit for their superb 2022 performances coming from the Catcher position. For Paris, he gets no knocks here for his defensive concerns. Also, seems to get more credit for a big age gap than he probably deserves, since he played majority of the year at A+.
  11. Keep in mind the new top 3 rookie of the year finish/draft pick incentive to have your top prospects start the year with the big club. I don’t think O’Hoppe will be headed to SLC
  12. I will enjoy watching Taylor Ward & Brandon Drury show us their late career breakout seasons were legit & sustainable similar to Josh Donaldson & Jose Bautista.. Perry referred to these guys in relation to the Drury signing.
  13. With both Renfroe & Gio entering their contract years, getting “snubbed” in arbitration could put a big chip on their shoulders, working hard to prove their worth to secure big bags next year. I’d be more concerned with going thru arbitration with guys that have come up thru this org
  14. They’ve “proven” they can’t stay healthy.. Tell me, which Angels player has a chronic injury that you’re concerned is gonna recur? some people just can’t see past the narrative
