  1. Yeah, I'd include Thaiss or Nate Smith. Would be nice to have an ace SP again.
  2. Offer Hermosillo and Marsh for Gray, IF Gray signs a 2 year extension giving us 4+ years of Gray's service.
  3. Nice little writeup and video of Jones' at bats while with the 66ers. http://baseballcensus.com/2017/07/23/los-angeles-angels-jahmai-jones-plus-speed-promotion-inland-empire-analysis/
  4. This is true. The Angels had some great picks after Thaiss in Marsh, Williams, Rodriguez, Duensing, not to mention some picks that could be something down the road in Zimmerman, Lund, Montgomery & Gibbons.
  5. I think it's way too early to judge Thaiss. He sure looked good to me in ST when I saw him. That said, I would look at including him in a deal to land a piece if we can.
  6. I don't miss his defense in the outfield... His offense has also dipped this season after getting that guaranteed money.
  7. If we could get him for little as far as prospects, but taking on his salary, I'd look at it. What does his contract and years look like?
  8. The Upton brothers have each had a few good seasons, but otherwise have been busts compared to what they were supposed to be. I would pass on Justin.
  9. Can you imagine if we signed Justin Turner. He's proving to be worth even more than what he's getting paid.
  10. Their farm system already sucks ass. I really doubt they have what it takes to land Gray. Lewis cannot seem to stay healthy and their #3 prospect was traded away for a middle to back of the rotation guy in Marco Gonzales.
  11. The Mariners farm system completely sucks. I doubt they have enough to get Gray. That said, I think we have a better shot.
  12. MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reports that the Mariners "might be preparing to make a run" for Sonny Gray. Feinsand's source told him that general manager Jerry Dipoto "is going for it these next two years" and "if he is going for it, he might as well go completely in." Seattle doesn't have a terribly strong farm system, but it sounds like Dipoto could be willing to empty the cupboard in order to acquire a quality starter who is under team control through 2019. He'll have plenty of competition for Gray, of course, as most every contender looking for pitching help has been connected to him.
  13. We need some lefthanded presence in our lineup. I really doubt Escobar comes back. I'm hoping there's a 3B injury on a contending team so that Escobar could be shipped out for something.
  14. I'd just like to improve our slugging pct. from our 3B spot. We've pretty much got .390 slugging pct. outta Escobar over the past two seasons. Yeah he has a decent OBP, but he doesn't hit for power and doesn't steal bases. His defense at 3B is below average. Moran & Kemp for Middleton, Maybin (to platoon with Aoki) and Norris for the two.
  15. I can't think of anywhere Escobar could land after the Red Sox just called up their top prospect to play 3B. Unless Devers completely sucks ass over the next week.
  16. Moran (former first rounder) has slashed .308/.373/.543 with an .916 OPS in AAA. He has also slugged 18 HR's in 79 games, clubbing a triple and HR in two games before his face was fractured by the ball last week. Since they'll have Bregman and Correa next year, plus JD Davis at 3B in AAA, I could see them moving both Moran and Kemp if they received major league ready talent to help their chances in the playoffs.
  17. Yeah... I mean if we could land a guy like Tony Kemp (I mentioned him in another thread) to play 2B, then you can stick Cowart at 3B, then upgrade via FA at LF and 1B to get a boost offensively.
  18. You should stick to just following and commenting on Mike Trout.
