  1. This. In fact I'm pretty sure they'd bite even if we replaced Bedrosian with Middleton.
  2. That meatloaf and broccoli I had for dinner last night provided a big splash this morning.
  3. @ettin, it appears the people of AW prefer bigger splashes over smaller splashes.
  4. Unless the GM pulls another Simmons for prospects deal. Eppy and the Braves GM are both young and they seem to have a good connection.
  5. Reason #1 I didn't watch or create a GDT.
  6. Yes, but that future may not be until 2019. Do you want another year and a half of Cron/Valbuena? I certainly don't. Gotta pay up to get.
  7. I gotta give @Dave Saltzer props as he was touting Hermosillo way back in rookie ball when he was down in Orem, Arizona.
  8. I wouldn't say Maybin provides pop gun offense. He's hit 6 HR so far, 18 doubles and a triple. You cannot disregard the defense he's provided (best since GA in his glory days) and his ability to steal a base (25 - on pace for almost 50). He gets on base. That's what you want from a leadoff hitter. He's walked 41 times this season so far.
  9. Only to have Pujols GIDP batting cleanup. Honestly, I'm not a Pujols basher but he needs to be moved down in the order once Trout comes back. This is why I'm hoping we can somehow get the big lefty bat as well, or just him in a trade with the Marlins. He immediately goes to the cleanup spot, Escobar 5th and Pujols 6th.
  10. They can release Espinosa or trade him for cash to be some team's utility guy. That or we keep him to be ours and we drop Pennington. Valbuena can be a backup 1B/3B and lefty off the bench. Neither have worked out, but both can easily be replaced while they head to the bench.
  11. I honestly think Thaiss is going to be packaged to land a run producing 1B.
  12. Thought this call from a Spanish announcer was pretty awesome.
  13. Every team, almost every season sees its fair share of bad signings and injuries. It happens! I believe the Angels are just a decent 1B, 2B and SP away from contending for a WC spot and being successful in the playoffs should they enter via the Wild Card.
  14. He's #14 on our list, but did crack the top 10 at #10 at Baseball America.
  15. Posted last night in the minor league thread that's stickied.
  16. Yeah, Hermosillo did too, but they've both rebounded nicely. Their trajectory to the big leagues is looking good.
  17. In 2009 Mike Trout played 30+ games for the AZL Angels, only to bypass Orem and play for the Low-A Cedar Rapids (now Burlington) club for the last 5 games of the season. So maybe..
