  1. I'd just like to improve our slugging pct. from our 3B spot. We've pretty much got .390 slugging pct. outta Escobar over the past two seasons. Yeah he has a decent OBP, but he doesn't hit for power and doesn't steal bases. His defense at 3B is below average. Moran & Kemp for Middleton, Maybin (to platoon with Aoki) and Norris for the two.
  2. I can't think of anywhere Escobar could land after the Red Sox just called up their top prospect to play 3B. Unless Devers completely sucks ass over the next week.
  3. Moran (former first rounder) has slashed .308/.373/.543 with an .916 OPS in AAA. He has also slugged 18 HR's in 79 games, clubbing a triple and HR in two games before his face was fractured by the ball last week. Since they'll have Bregman and Correa next year, plus JD Davis at 3B in AAA, I could see them moving both Moran and Kemp if they received major league ready talent to help their chances in the playoffs.
  4. Yeah... I mean if we could land a guy like Tony Kemp (I mentioned him in another thread) to play 2B, then you can stick Cowart at 3B, then upgrade via FA at LF and 1B to get a boost offensively.
  5. You should stick to just following and commenting on Mike Trout.
  6. Have any ideas? Whether by trade or FA signing. Obviously Moustakas could be looked at, but what are some others. How about Josh Harrison? Or trade for one of these youngsters: Richie Shaffer, Michael Chavis, Colin Moran, JD Davis, Hunter Dozier or Ryan McMahon?
  7. Big time props, @ettin. You called this!
  8. Maybe it just seems he's hitting key HR's against us is why I thought he kills us. Maybe not. That said, he's the best option to man 3B next year if he's not going to be too expensive.
  9. I'm not either. I am however sold on Moustakas.
  10. Bridwell has pretty good stuff. Let's not talk about FIP again. It reminds me of the argument we had here on signing Joe Blanton.
  11. Granted it was only one game, but he was the hero in Boston earlier in the season going 2-3 with a double, 2 RBI and a walk.
  12. Troy Glaus' OPS was .571 over his first 165 at bats, but they were consistent at bats after getting promoted in '98. Hell, even Mike Trout over his first 135 PA's had an OPS of just .672. Cowart never received every day playing time over his first 143 PA's in the big leagues, so you can't knock him too hard.
  13. Hoping we sign Moustakas to man 3B for a while. He seems to hit well at Angel Stadium too.
  14. I believe if Jones finishes strong in the Cal League that BA will place him in the top 100 list. Also, does anyone know why Adell has only DH'd in all of his games thus far?
  15. I bet they wait till tomorrow to announce one of the following: 1. Cowart will join the team in Cleveland and start at 2B. Franklin or Pennington will be released. 2. It will be revealed that Cowart was placed on the 7-day DL due to a broken heart.
  16. Cowart playing 2B for his 7th straight game (no errors) and he's 3-4 with 3 runs scored tonight.
  17. Why Tuesday? But yeah, he should have been up here yesterday. I'm still not sure why we signed Franklin and why Pennington/Robinson are on this roster.
